Energy efficient?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a Whirlpool Duet that was 11 years old that I replaced with this one. The first thing I saw was that all the washing cycles are longer on this machine. I also, could increase or decrease the time of the washing cycle on my old duet, but can't on this one. I am happy with this machine, otherwise.

Great Machine

Lots of option. It is really a great machine. To avoid mildew build up inside the door I just leave the door open after each wash for it dry.

Whirlpool Duet Washers Have a short life cycle -

I've owned two Whirlpool Duet washers. Neither lasted two years. This explains the normal warranty runs out after 1 year and they don't offer an extended warranty on the product. Both had electronic failures that cost about as much as the purchase price to fix and parts are not directly available directly from Whirlpool so you can't fix it yourself. Additionally, the soap/fabric dispenser system doesn't like the modern liquid soaps, etc and get clogged up after a short time using the recommended...

love the washer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the washer. Very attractive. Works very well. Fairly quiet. Have both washer and dryer stacked. Does not vibrate like my last set did which were not stacked but on pedestles. A negative is that my laundry room is tiny and the washer and dryer open in opposite directions and difficult to comfortably load.Wasnt informed if the washer door can be changed. Doesnt look like it...so best I dont gain weight!

The only thing I would suggest is to leave the door open for a little while after it is finished to let the water in the front rubber seal dry out to prevent a moldy smell.

Quiet Appliance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace an older model of 10 years. This appliance is so quiet when operating I have to go look to see if it's working. Has a lot more features than my older model and my favorite feature is the sanitize button because I have dogs & small grandbabies. Looking forward to getting the matching dryer when my old one gives out.

Great Capacity, Great Performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced our 10 year old Kenmore front loader with this. Our repairman said, "always buy Whirlpool!"" so we did. Thrilled with the capacity on the machine- can handle a big load of towels with no trouble at all and gets the water extracted well on each cycle so drying time is minimized. It does equally well on all settings and produces sparkling clean clothes in minimal time. I still need to learn how and when to use the steam setting but look ...

Great updated washer

Do Not Buy It!!

I bought new in 2012 a Whirlpool Duet washer. It is 4 years old and stopped working. The repair man said that it needed two major part components and that it would cost just about as much to fix it than it would to buy a new one. He could have made some money on the repair but recommended an Electrolux instead. Having it installed now and the guys said that Whirlpool pretty much is what it is and you get what you pay for. I will never buy another Whirlpool.

I love every feature of my washer and dryer.

I always fill it to the maximum capacity and I don't have a problem. Works really great! I had the same ones in my old home in New Jersey so I just love it.
