Absolute piece of junk

I don't usually write reviews I hope this can save someone time and money. I am not a pro painter. I was a finish carpenter for 12 years. I bought this to save me time and look better than brush painting. It does neither of those things. I spent a lot of time watching videos and experimenting with it. It is garbage. I don't know why they would sell this. It was turned me off from all wagner products. Ok I hope this helps someone. I will waste no more time on this.

Works well

I have used this to stain our fence and have found it very easy to use. Cuts the time way down. Have not had any problems with it getting clogged and have used it twice so far.

I bought this to apply a sealer to my aged deck. The wood is old and pitted so I ended up just brushing the sealer on, but I highly recommend this when sealing lattice. It took me an hour to paint one section of lattice, then I bought this sprayer and I had coated 2 sections of lattice in about 15 mins. It works well even when you have to tilt it sideways. Good product

You still have to go behind with a brus to make sure there is no running paint but definitely makes the job quicker

locking mechanism of the product is malfunction because it keeps falling apart from the sprayer bottle and the sprayer. the machine itself cannot spray paint evenly to the surface of the material by turning the dialer for spray direction in horizontal, vertical and both directions. must need to use paint brush or paint roller to re-do the job. the purpose of using the Wagner Opti-Stain Plus Handheld HVLP Paint Sprayer is defeated entirely. wasted time, effort, and money.

Awesome spray gun

Don’t waste your money on an expensive spray gun for the handyman projects. This is all you need!

Great sprayer for sealing fences/decks/walkways!

This is a great little sprayer -- it is easy to set up and uses much less sealant than a traditional pump sprayer. I got this because my pump sprayer no longer was working properly. This made the job much easier and faster -- just make sure you adjust the spray rate (otherwise it will use too much product too fast). It’s ok

If you’re just spraying a fence, or the flat surface of a deck, this should work ok. If you’re spraying a pergola or railing, be ready for a lot of overspray. I could never find the “sweet spot”. It oversprayed and dripped everywhere if the pressure was too high, and sputtered and dripped I’d the pressure was low.

Surprisingly powerful get job done

Seal my new stain fence. I was surprise it is powerful and spray very even. The container is small so I had fill more times but did not mind since I did not want spend lots more for a professional rental sprayer.

Nice lightweight sprayer. Does an excellent job with oil based stains.

Not for paint

Although product clearly states you can use paint, paint continually was clogged in the sprayer even after thinning like it recommended. I ended up returning because after having trouble and then figuring in the time it takes to clean this thing, it took less time to use a roller on my garage.

Was not rated for solid color stain, returned item

I was advised not to try to get the solid color stain, that matches what has been on my fence for years, to work in this sprayer. It might have had to be thinned and the stain manufacturer help line recommend against that for the fact that it might not dry before sagging.

Great Value

After having difficulty staining my fence with a more expensive, more complicated and more messy paint station, I decided to purchase the Opti-Stain Plus. It proved to be much easier with less mess and cleanup.
