This is a terrible product

The switch and outlet get out of sync with each other extremely easily, and the outlet needs to be unplugged and replugged to re-establish sync. This makes it useless, since the whole reason is to avoid going to where the outlet is. The switch is also extremely fragile, and doesn't stay in the housing very easily.

Convenient Light Control

This device would be great for someone who is not tech savvy or does not trust having their devices constantly connected to the internet. You just plug the receiver into an outlet and plug your lamp cord into the receiver. Pop the battery in the remote and you can turn the light on and off. The remote is a little flimsy, but works. nice light control

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i got the Utilitech Lighting Control Wireless Remote 1 Polarized for my livingroom reading lamp. i have arthritis in my hands and it is very hard to cut on the lightswitch of my lamp.but the utilitech lightning control make my live easy now, i plugged the device into the outlet and plugged my lamp into it and now i have the remote next to me and it is so easy to just cut it on or off. I recommend it !

Wireless Control

Just plug it in to any outlet, plug what you want to control into it and your done!! This worked perfect for our Christmas tree. We have a prelit which does not have a plug on the tree for our angel. Works as advertised, super simple

That's all i could really hope for.. If youre looking for a non-wifi on/off switch for a lamp - this is perfect for you. 5/5 stars!

3 strikes you're out

We really liked the concept of this remote switch so when it died the first time (after 3 or 4 months), we bought another one. However, then the second one quit working after a month, we returned it and received a new one. Now the 3rd one has also quit working after 2 months so we have given up on this product.

Love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This remote control is something I use everyday. The light I use it on is in a corner and a little hard to access. It makes things much safer for someone like me who is a little older. It's very easy to install. You just plug the lamp into the receiver. Plug the receiver into an outlet. Put the battery into the remote and you're ready to go!

I also love how you can take the remote out of the wall plate and make it portable. The box that goes into the outlet is a little bug and you cannot plug in a three prong plug into the outlet box.

In our case, we used this baby to set up a switch to control the out bedroom lamp from the bed. Neither of us ever wanted to get up to turn off the night, and now we don't have. Syncing the remote and hub was very easy; and testing it out, it works from quite a distance.

My Christmas tree is in a corner right up against an outlet which makes it a pain to plug in whenever I want to be festive but it’s the best spot in the house for the tree! With this remote, I can turn on the tree from all over the house without having to crawl into the tree like a squirrel trying to find the outlet. Definitely a game changer!

Perfect for lamps with 3-way bulbs

We hated having to reach up to the switch on the bedside lamps with 3-way bulbs. This remote switch is now on our night stands and makes turning the lights on or off so easy!

Low Quality

product did not work new out of box and instructions for troubleshooting were very sparse, "Replace the battery". Spend a few more dollars for a quality product.

Good initially then dies

I’ve bought two of these to run my garbage disposal under the sink. Yet again, it stops working after several months. Replaced battery still not working. Short life. Even before it died completely, I would have to press and hold the off button down for a very long time to get it to turn off. Then i had to move the switch all around as if the signal was getting weaker - holding it a foot or two away instead of 3 or 4 feet away on the wall where it should be. Now its just died completely...

So convenient. I am sad I didn't find it sooner.

This is such a handy device. The way our bedroom is positioned, we are many steps away from a light switch that will illuminate the main room. With this I was easily able to add a switch for turning on a table lamp, right by our bedroom door. It is very easy to set up and works very well.

This product is junk!

I bought my first one and used it for around a month before the "on" bottom stopped working. I returned it to the store and they replaced it with a new one. The second one stopped working within the first week.

BOught two of these and Batteries in both units died one lasted two months and one lasted six weeks
