Would Not Recommendturns out they are pre-installed n the new AO Smith water heaters even tho it says on outside of box you need to buy 'em; save your money possibly useful for an old heater, but on my old system they had no effect, the cold ncoming line still got quite warm over 18" length they are useful as simple joiners since they have nice smooth plastic tip that is friendly to the special supply line seals that you really should buy instead of using hose washers

for the price you will be better off buying regular nipples, i still had to add rubber hose washers to keep them from leaking.
