What Customers Are Saying
The overall sentiment towards the product is negative. Many customers reported issues with the pump's durability, including premature failure, motor burnout, short-cycling, and rusting. While a few customers had positive experiences, the general consensus is that the product is of poor quality and not worth the risk of frequent, costly replacements. Customers would recommend opting for a more reliable brand, even if it costs more upfront.

Waste of Time & Money. Shame on you Lowe's!
Would Not RecommendI purchased and installed the Utilitech 0.75 well pump on July 10, 2016 and it stopped working on August 15, 2017. One year, one month, and 6 days. Pitiful! I wouldn't use one of these pumps again if they were free. When I bought this pump, I must admit that I had reservations about the build quality. But, as is often the case, I was in a jam and had to have a pump. My bad. I will dip water out of the river before I ever buy another pump from Lowe's. Don't waste your money on this junk, buy a qu...

PUMP FAILED AFTER 24 MONTHS and 3 WEEKS
Would Not RecommendPump installed depth: -165 ft. Water Level:-60 ft. Usage: 2 adults. Worked fine, without any problems for 2 years and 3 weeks. At that point, it stopped working. Since the warranty was for 2 years, it failed "out of warranty. For a deep well pump this is an unacceptably short life, which should be closer to 20 years, not 2 years. Since Lowes does not offer repair parts for this model, this is a total loss.
The manufacturers warranty is for a defect due to defective materials or workmanship. I would agree that a pump should last longer than 2 years with ...

Emergency purchase
I am the family handyman for many members of the family. My in laws gave me a call stating that their pump was turning on and off frequently and could not shower more than a minute. During my diagnosis I determined that the pump was pulling over 21amps. We ran lowes to pick up this pump. The pump installed like any other pump, just make sure you have a pipe wrench to install your. Barber fitting into the pump since there are no square ends to grab on. Overall good product we will need to wai...

not worth the money
Would Not Recommendwe bought this a year and half ago and already had to replace. warrenty only a year so that was worthless.

I WISH THIS PUMP WERE EVEN WORSE
Would Not RecommendLasted one year and three months. If not for the three months, I could have gotten credit. My prior pump lasted 9 years.
Matthew,
The manufacturers warranty is one year from the date of purchase. If you have an issue within the warranty period, the pump would be re...

Died after 2 years
Would Not RecommendThe pump died after 2 years of use at 120ft. I just purchased a Franklin from a well supplier for 525, it's a little more money up front but I won't have to worry about the pump for atleast 10 years.
Graminal,
I am sorry to hear your pump failed within 2 years. Did you call our technical support line for assistance? We would be glad to help, ...

bad
If I could rate this as no stars then I would. We had the pump for 6 years and it just quit working. Plumber said pumps last way longer then this. We had a pump for over 20 years prior to this and it worked fine. This is sad that a company would not review these reviews and do something to help their customers. Ours was completely rusted out, over 6 years, really? Definitely do not recommend this purchase. My husband spent a lot of time replacing this for the second time.
Ashley,
I am sorry for the delay in response. Unfortunately we have found it was beyond our control at that time. If you have any further questi...

Working well
This pump was installed by our well contractor to replace a pump that had worn out. He said it was a good brand and it is working well for us.
Substandard Pump
Would Not RecommendMy previous well pump lasted more than 20 years, but this Utilitech one only lasted 7 months. I am surprised Lowes chooses to sell a product that has such poor quality. If you buy this pump make sure to save your receipt, you will need it to get your money back when it fails after just a few months.
Jim,
I am sorry you had issue with our pump. If you call our technical support line @ 1-800-742-5044, we would be glad to assist you.

Will fail right after 1 year warranty
Would Not RecommendI installed this pump 11/2015 and now 1/2017 just 2 months after warranty it has failed. For over $350 it only lasted a year...The well tank was also replaced at that time and still works fine (just tested it) so the pump wasn't being overworked, its just poorly made. When your out of water its a headache and its tempting to get one of these cause they are in stock and get it fixed asap if your a handy man. But trust me take the time to order a better quality one otherwise you'll be right bac...

easy to install. only one problem
Would Recommendhad problems with my pump it shorted out so needed to replace . This was a great price and was easy to replace by my self. The only problem I had was I picked up a check valve but they had no way to connect to pump in the store. Needed a nipple. After I got home and started to assemble the check valve after I went and got a nipple I didn't need the check valve for there was one inside the pump. Would of know that would of saved me a lot of searching for the nipple. and a trip back to town to...
This thing works well!
Would RecommendI replaced my well pump about 2 months ago. Unfortunately, the pressure tank was also waterlogged, and I was just putting that job off. This pump has probably worked 50 times as hard as it normally would have had to with a properly pressurized tank. I was just waiting to end up with a head full of shampoo in the shower when this thing gave out. Never happened. Very pleased with this product.
Not Recommended
Would Not RecommendHad one installed and lasted a little over 3 years. Warranty expired after one. Lowe's does not offer an extended warranty. Purchase something better for the cost of this one.
Stopped working
Would Not RecommendThis pump pushed water with ease from 140 feet down. Unfortunately after 2 years it quit working and I have to go buy another one.....not the same brand though. You would think a $500 pump would last 20 years, not two.
Franklin Motor
Would RecommendI bought this pump because it had the Franklin Motor. My old pump of 20 years was a Franklin. It was an exact replacement and I also replaced my control box at the same time. Everything so far is working as it should.
Okay purchase
Would RecommendThis product was $100 more than I if I had bought it at one of the wholesale shops I have Accounts at. But on a Sunday and a holiday weekend it was a great Buy.
