What Customers Are Saying
The overall sentiment towards the product is negative. Many customers reported issues with the pump's durability, including premature failure, motor burnout, short-cycling, and rusting. Pumped up
Would RecommendBought my retirement home in 2010. My first home with a well, so I freaked out when the water quit flowing. Called a friend and 1 hot day in Aug. 2016 we pulled 110' sch80 pvc. Replaced the 1/2 hp pump with this 3/4 hp, got the proper control box and used 100' of black tubing, The last 10' are still pvc. Replaced pressure switch box too and cranked it up to 30-50psi from 20-40psi. Has been working great ever since, 2 yrs next month. My water has a lot of iron and Sulphur. Inside of toilet tan...

Not a good pump at all.
Would Not RecommendI had this pump installed to the sum of 2k ($1800 - $2000 is the going price in my neck of the woods). Within a few days my water pressure started dropping to under 10 - psi. I have a brand spanking new Pressure Tank and Pressure Switch. I check the current coming from the motor and it was less than it was supposed to have, the motor was failing. If I read the reviews I wouldn't have bought this pump.

Bought 4/22/17 died 5/23/2018
Replaced a 18 year old pump and this pump lasted one month longer than the warranty. I think the Problem is that the top isn’t aluminum so it rust.

So far, a good pump
Would RecommendI installed one of these about three years ago. It has been working fine ever since. My well is 260 ft deep and I get plenty of flow capacity from the pump, even during the dry seasons. My tank pressure range is 40 to 60 psig.

Buy A Different Pump
Would Not RecommendPurchased this pump on July 2012. It is now March 31,2018 and this pump has died. I have been without water for over a week. After waiting for the pump company to hopefully show up and never did. I am left to do it again by my self. This pump fried so bad that now the pump, pressure switch, and the wire from the top to the breaker box, due to safety concerns. I have been reading reviews for this brand and now feel as though I may have to find a diffreent route to replacing this pump.

Premature replacement
Would Not RecommendUtilitech model UT301. Pulled the pump after 5 years. Pretty sure we installed this in 2013. Date code on pump says 0612. It's 2018 at the time of this review. My stainless clamps at my check valve failed because the nuts were not stainless and completely corroded off (not the pumps fault obviously). Decided to pull pump and check on it too, glad I did because something on the top end is corroding and probably wouldn't have lasted much longer either.
James,
Sorry to hear you had to pull your pump withing 5 years of installation. As you stated, the problem was not with the pump but with the cl...

Glad for Lowe's
Would RecommendUnfortunately my local Rio Grande Lowe's did not have this pump. So I was able to get from another Lowe's 40 minutes away. My pump went on a Sunday so only place to get one was at Lowe's. Worked fine have water. Got one from Lowe's for another house 3 years ago, still working. Even the my local Lowe's did not have it. Don't understand live in rural area and my Lowe's does not carry this pump.
Hi Anthony. We are glad to hear you were able to get your water up and going again. If you have any questions regarding the installation or the pump ...

Designed to fail
Would Not RecommendPump is made with a very thin plastic cover over the electric wires that rubs through the wires just after the warranty period ends. Last pump was a flotec and lasted 25 years. Would not recommend.
Dear wildwoodnaturescapes, we are sorry that you have experienced the difficulty you describe. we would like an opportunity to discuss your applicati...

INSTALL ERROR
Would Not RecommendMOST PEOPLE DO NOT REALIZE THAT WHEN I SAYS THAT PUMPS WATER FROM 350 FEET THAT ITLL WORK FROM 0-350 NO MATTER WHAT. EVERY PUMP IS SPECIFIC TO CERTAIN WATER LEVELS. NOT THE MANUFACTURES FAULT THAT THE INSTALLER DOESNT PROPERLY SIZE THE PUMP TO THE APPLICATION. IN A PINCH ANY PUMP WILL DO THE JOB IF SIZED PROPERLY. THE LONGEVITY OF IT WILL DEPEND ON THE PRODUCT AFTER THE PROPER INSTALL. NOT TOO MENTION THAT IF THEY HAVE A SMALL PRESSURE TANK THAT THE PUMP WILL SHORT CYCLE AND BURN OUT FASTER ...
Thank you, we appreciate your comment. It is certainly correct that every application would benefit from a properly sized and installed pump and pres...

Submirsible Pump
Would Not RecommendI drove over 50 miles to Yuba City to buy this pump just to get it home and it doesn't work at all. Now I have to drive over another 50 miles to return it. I am not happy. Lowes will be lucky if I ever buy anything from them again.

"You buy cheap....you get cheap!"
Would Not RecommendOnce power was applied to the pump via the 30/50 pressure switch, pump would run for only a few seconds, then shut off for 20 to 30 seconds although voltage was still going to the pump motor. Pump motor would short cycle like this for several minutes until the water pressure reached the pressure switch shut-off of 50 psi. Pump was then checked by sliding the Pitless Adapter from the system and by-passing the pressure switch. Water flow was observed at the male end of the Pitless Adapter, and th...
