Would Not RecommendHad Craftsman for 10 years, no issues. Tried Troy Bilt - never again. Didn’t make it out of the first year of light duty without issues. Major headache, won’t start, biggest waste of money ever. Pick something (anything) else.
Less than a year.
Just awful. Purchased for occasional use with attachments such as pole saw and hedger. Didnt last a year with ethenol free fuel and draining after use. For about thirty dollars more one could purchase the orange brand which i have in trimmer form and is almost 10 years old.

poorly made, useless warranty
Would Not Recommendbought this a little over a year ago, still under warranty, used it about six times. Had small issues with it but nothing I could not fix myself. Then I went to use it this last time and it would not run, took back to lowes to be repaired, they sent it out, got a call back about 2 weeks later saying the carburetor was bad and that the warranty would not cover it! (wouldn't you know) they wanted over $100 to fix. WHat a waste of money, Do not buy. I have had many trimmers over the years, but th...

Troybilt TB2044XP trimmer
Would Not RecommendWasted my money on this piece of crap. I've been using trimmers for over 40 years and never have I hated something as bad as this one. I've tried every kind of string made, even steel core. They all break off inside the trimmer head. When I breaks this way, I have to take off the spool using a screw driver, take out what string is left and rewind it.Don't buy this piece of crap. Troy-Bilt won't let you review anything more than once. I hate trimming every time now. I used to enjoy it, till I sta...

Worst purchase ever.
Would Not RecommendBought this trimmer last summer for my small yard. Worked great last year and for the first 2 times I used it this year. However, made a loud sound inside the engine casing as I was using it for the 3rd time this year. The engine is shot. Horrible trimmer!
Never worked right.
Would Not RecommendFrankly, its junk. It has never run as it should. I flip the lever and do the pumping as directed. As soon as I engage the throttle, it stalls. It never would idle. It would never work as it was supposed to. It only runs with that lever flipped forward. Would not buy again.
Not good
Got trimmer in fall of 18 worked good. Spring of 19 started good used one day and died. Will start and thats all it will do. Oh its on first string refill. So still like new.
Lasted one season
Would Not RecommendBought this trimmer based on reviews. Ran great and worked fine for couple of months. End of first season, engine would not stay running. Then part after part started breaking on pull start mechanism. Bought part and repaired, but 2 weeks later, another piece broke. Not made well at all. Ended up in garbage by end of year. Bought a Stihl, starts first pull every time!

SkillCraft Scissors work better
Would Not RecommendIf you enjoy weak bogged down stalling pull string breaking crap, then this is for you. however, if you are looking for something that you can start with a pull string, will actually not stall out when used on tough vegetation (like weekly cut grass) and won't crap out when you let off the throttle, search for something different. Super frustrating having to fight with this junk just to finish off my mow.

Good for a year.
Would Not RecommendWorked well for the 1st year I had it. It's now been 4, and every year there's been an issue from throttle issues to bulb primer. Get what you pay for.
