What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these composite shims for outperforming wood alternatives—they don't split, warp, or degrade, making them ideal for doors, windows, cabinets, and subfloors. Reviewers highlight their stackability, precise 1/16" adjustments, smooth insertion, and durability in damp environments. Many appreciate the ease of use and keep multiple packs on hand. Some report inconsistent breaking or snapping, and a few note the flat shape requires stacking rather than gradual adjustment. Overall, most consider them the most reliable shim option available.

Easter shim hunting
Would RecommendThese shims are 1/16" thick and break away easily. Note that Lowes stocks these Timberwolf shims in an aisle of its own. All other shims including the Timerwolf wedge shaped shims are stocked in another aisle. Why doesn't Lowes put all shims in one aisle? It's like an Easter egg hunt to find the one you want.

Great product!
Would RecommendVersatile product. Used to shim up some of our deck boards, we couldn't find anything else that would work so this was a lifesaver.

Worked very well
Would RecommendBest shims I’ve ever used

great shims...some are just too tough to break
Would RecommendQuality control is lacking in manufacture. Some snap right off at the desired length and some seem to have high vinyl content and are almost impossible to break and must be cut or twisted. These are better than wood wedge shims but would deem four maybe five stars if they weren't so hard to break apart.

Great solid little shims
Would RecommendI use these for anything that I need to be a little more solid than a wood shim, or when it will be in contact with concrete. They're great and I always keep a pack on them on hand.

Go to shim
Would RecommendThese are our favorite shims to use as we can stack and hit the depths we need versus pushing the varying thickness shims to hit our needs. Hands down what we use for everything from setting windows to installing cabinets.

Verified Pro
Good and not so good
Would Recommend[Employee of lowes] Bought these due to the "U" shape design. Liked that they go on both sides of the screw for doors and windows. My issue is you must "trial and error" fit them. They are NOT tapered and 2nd shim will not slide in with one or more shims already in place.
