Nice Ice Maker

Good ice maker - makes good ice, just a little loud when it’s actively making ice.

Great ice maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this for a new kitchen. We’ve had several icemakers in the past. None of them compare. The ice is awesome. The quantity is unbelievable and the consistency is great.

Internal leak

It's a lovely looking machine. But mine sprung an internal leak within the six months. I now have mold in my cabinet. It's not an install problem. The water is coming from the pump area inside the box.

A Waste Of Money & Resources

What THOR does not tell its buyers is that this unit operates at 40 degrees Fahrenheit. It does not keep the ice frozen but allows it all to melt within 48 hours. This information was only revealed after the service technician called THOR technical support during a service call. It’s operating temperature is not available information on THOR’s website or other online sources. If you are using a great deal of ice this is not big deal. Ice making MOFO

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This icemaker is awesome. We are a family of four and we use ice regularly throughout the day. It quickly makes a ton of ice and you can adjust the cube size setting. Not like Sonic ice but thinner more manageable cubes. To be honest the highest setting with the biggest ice cubes were really hard to break up cause it comes out in sheets and the machine stays nice and cold but we changed it to a smaller setting and nice is perfect. Reconsider buying this

Loud, does not cut the sheets of cubes well

Great Ice Maker

After spending hours reading the reviews on all freestanding ice makers, I decided on this one. The main complaint on this one was the ice cubes didn't break apart easily. After installing the ice maker, they were correct. After reading the instruction manual, I reduced the size of the ice and ice cubed became very easy to break apart.

Great Ice Maker - Easy to Install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this a few days ago, installation procedure was easy, good instructions, clear ice was made immediately! We installed underneath a counter, and dimensions provided were very true.

Admittedly we just got this today but I have to say that while the ice is being made, this ice maker is louder than my dishwasher. Hopefully this subsides once the ice is caught up. Also, If you want to reverse the door, just be aware the “Thor” logo will now be upside down at the top of the door instead of right side up at the bottom if you don’t want to switch the door. So far have called customer service but no answer. Will (try) and keep y’all posted once I’ve had this for a week or so.

Very noisy fan.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve had other ice machines and they are noisy when the ice falls. But the Thor Ice Machine fan is very loud.

Worst ice maker ever

Sheets of ice don’t break apart when dropping. As part of a basement finish and was onsite for 90 days before install and now can’t get Lowe’s to help. So not only would I not buy the ice machine, won’t shop at Lowe’s again.

Thor ice maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced a uline ice maker with the Thor1501. Extremely easy swap, plug and play essentially. Built in pump is a huge win as other high end models require a separate purchase of the pump. Rapid start up, quick ice cycle. Had a full bin of crystal clear ice overnight. Could not be happier with the aestethic and function of this product. Would recommend this to family and friends.
