So far so good! We had Kitchen Aid ice maker and it died within a year. Hope this is a better choice

Works well and looks great

Purchased this ice maker to replace our last one that quit working. This one is great, easy to clean, and does it's job. Not loud at all like others have suggested. Very happy.

DONT DO IT!

Do NOT buy this heap of JUNK. Our original unit stopped making ice after TWO service visits turns-out machine could not be fixed. Because it was within Warranty THOR "ultimately" shipped the replacement brand-new unit which not only again FAILED after 7 months, but leaked internally causing extensive damage to our cabinetry and hardwood floors. THOR's response to this problem - "Bad Luck!" Horrible company, Horrible after sales service.

broke after 6 months

This ice maker broke after 6 months. It took 2 weeks for anyone at Thor to help me, and the replacement part and ice maker are on backorder for weeks.

Received ours today and we are so pleased. The sleek design compliments our kitchen, and the removable ice bin is a great feature! It's going to be a great summer with this addition!!!

Looks great, makes great ice

It’s hard to find a good one that fits in this small space. This one looks great and makes great ice, but there are two things about it that are annoying: 1. It’s loud (sounds like a cheap dishwasher) 2. It makes ice in sheets of 16 cubes that you have to manually break up to get the ice to fit in the glasses

Great machine...good price

Just bought this machine and didn't know what to expect since I am not familiar with the brand. So far, I am very impressed. the machine makes new cubes very quickly and is very efficient. The cubes are good and the machine is quiet and very smartly assembled.

Not great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ice texture is nice but it drops in one large square then you have to break it up to scoop it into a glass. Very hard to break. End up wasting ice.

Ice Making Banshee

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We installed our Thor Icemaker yesterday with an inline filter, turned it on about 2:30 PM and had a full bin by dinner time. I do have three comments which are not showstoppers: The full handle will not allow the door to open wide enough to remove the bin without difficulty. The indicator lights are on the bottom of the unit, so you have to get on your knees with a flashlight to see what is happening or to change a setting. Once the bin is...

I’m disappointed that I did not read the reviews thoroughly. The unit is very loud when making ice and the ice comes out in a sheet and we have to manually break it apart. I filled out a form and also left a message for THOR and no one ever returned my call. I would return this machine if I could.

Solid Unit Overall

I’m a week in and the Ice maker seems well built and certainly looks the part. The ice production is quick and setup was easy thanks to the built in drain pump. My only complaint would be that the ice sticks together and comes out in sheets that have to be broken up. I reduced the ice size and it helped but I till have to break it up in order to get it into cups and water bottles. That said, I’m still happy with my purchase.
