Really nice

We purchased this butcher block for a countertop we will more than likely not be cutting on. I only used food grade mineral oil on it and it came out beautiful. The price was under $300 and with our military discount it was a great price. We actually put 3 galvanized phalanges on top for a shelving unit resting on it. I used this butcher block to make an adjustable desk. Best butcher block I ever use, very good quality.

Solid block of wood

Lots of blemishes and dents on both the A and B side so be prepared to deal with that before finishing. Other than that it's very sturdy and well put together. I finished it with stain and wipe on poly to use as a desk and overall I'm pleased with how it turned out.

love the look

researched in regards to butcher block counter tops and found that it is not really that hard to maintain. we know have them installed and love them, stained them a dark brown and looks great

beautiful wood

The wood was beautiful. It only took very minimal fine sanding to get it ready for a polyurethane finish. High quality butcher block. Only reason I didn't rate a 5 stars is because there was a gouge on one side. I didn't notice it when I picked it up as it was on the bottom side. I suspect this happened during handling and shipping after the manufacturing process.

Nice quality butcher block top, but.....

This is the second top I have purchased. The first one I had to return because one of the corners was smashed in. You could not tell this had happened until you opened the shipping package. This butcher block top was dented slightly on a corner but I plan to round the edges, so it won’t be a factor.

Very rough

You’d better be a good woodworker and have great tools if you want this slab to have a finished look. I have very expensive sanding equipment and dust collection but it still took me several hours of sanding with several grits (starting with 24 grit!) on my Festool 6” orbital sander to get it smooth and ready for finishing. Solid and beautiful

Lowes only had 8 foot and 4 foot lengths, so had to purchase 8 feet and cut 3 feet off to match my 2 cabinet island.

These butcher blocks are really nice for the price. Weve always loved the look of butcher block and finally decided to redo our kitchen and couldnt find a better deal. This is a much more affordable option than any type of custom cut stone and looks amazing. Only giving four stars due to a small split on my island butcher block. This is minor and probably my fault, but an imperfection nontheless. Make sure you seal quickly and you shouldnt have the same issue. Really happy with this purchase!

It looks better than expected

I hated my laminate island countertop. After debating over it for awhile, I took a leap of faith.. I love it!! I also painted my oak cabinets with Lowe’s cabinet paint !! I love the way my kitchen is coming together!

Butcher Block for Laundry Cabinet

I bought this butcher block as an alternative to having a solid stone fabricated for my laundry cabinet. It was a great economical choice(only around $100). I stained the block a cool turquoise color and put 2 coats of a clear poly on top. I also bought ceramic turquoise knobs to match. I am very happy with my purchase!
