What Customers Are Saying
The Tomcat Mole Trap is an effective solution for controlling moles, with many users reporting catching multiple moles quickly. The trap is praised for its simplicity and ability to indicate when a mole has been caught. However, some users found it difficult to set up properly, especially in harder or rocky soil, and a few reported the plastic components breaking. There were also concerns about the trap not always killing the mole instantly. Overall, the trap can be an effective and humane way to manage moles when used correctly, but may require some trial and error to master.

Tomcat mole trap.
Would Not RecommendThis trap was very very hard to set. My husband, son and myself tried to step on the trap unsuccessfully. I finally had someone who was used to setting mole traps try to set the Tom Cat trap. He was unsuccessful and declared the trap broken. I returned the trap and am now looking for a trap that is easier to set and works. The instructions are very vague. My son downloaded instructions from the internet which was useful. Yes, we did find an active run, but could not set the trap. I returned ...
Set and Go
Would RecommendLove these traps have about 8-9 of them for my yard and parents. set as the directions say and work very well. They do not rust easy to set since using them have a 90-95% catch rate

It works
Would RecommendI had a mole that had devastated the area around my apple tree. I had tried the spike type traps in the past and never had much luck with them. I saw the reviews on the Tom Cat and they look promising. My first attempt was a fail the ground was wet and sticky lots of clay soil and the jaws could not move smoothly. The second attempt I made sure there was lots of clearance and set the trap off to make sure the the jaws closed success! Caught a large mole. Hard to believe that one mole could do so...

Would RecommendI have been using this for this year and last year. It works great, got three mole in three days over the weekend. Really easy to be triggered. I had trouble setting it up when I first start using this, but later I learned the trick. Step on it hard until you hear a click, adjust the little tab with your hand a little, very slowly release your foot, you will be able to tell if it's set.

caught a mole within hours od setting trap
Would RecommendBought two of these today, Sunday August 26, 2018 around 5pm. Got home, read instructions a few times, set both traps. Checked them at 10:30pm and caught one. I guessed at what tunnels they may be using. This one was along the driveway so it looked like a main run. Reset and will check in the morning.
Great results!
Would RecommendPurchased the last one available at my local Lowes. We saw it had mixed reviews, but decided to try it. When I opened it, I could tell it had been used before and returned, it still had dirt on it. Set the trap the first afternoon and by morning had caught the first (of probably many) moles. Easy to use, set up in less than 5 minutes, and effective so far.
Surprisingly, this worked!
Would RecommendI caught my mole on the first night of setting this trap. I wasn't sure it was going to work, because when I opened the box at home, I could see this had already been used and returned… there was dirt and grass all over it. But I followed the instructions, including one from the online video that said to dig out two slots in the ground for the scissor claws using a flat shovel. When I stepped on the yellow pedal to set the trap, I made it go back and forth a few times before clicking it all the ...

FINALLY GOT THE MOLE
Would RecommendI’ve been trying to catch this little guy for months. I’ve tried the baits, poisons, water and the metal harpoon traps and nothing would work. I then bought the Tomcat Mole Trap. I set the trap the night I bought it, and the very next morning I GOT A MOLE! This thing is AMAZING. I wish I purchased this months ago. Easy to set and place. Highly recommend.

This is a perfect mole trap!
Would RecommendIt is kind of hard to get the trap set - you have to make a dent in the dirt deep enough for the trigger to drop down far enough, but once it is set, it is fail proof. It has never failed me
Nope
Would Not RecommendIn ideal conditions, soft ground, dumb mole and perfect setting depth this might work. Otherwise, don’t bother. Best thing I found is the plastic cleans up nicely when you have to return it to the store. If your ground is hard, you destroy your yard worse than the mole does trying to set it. As an engineer, it is now my mission to design a mole trap that actual works.
Great Trap!!!
Would RecommendI've been battling mole problems for the past 18 years and purchased every mole trap on the market. When I saw this trap at Lowe's I decided to give it a try. This is by far the easiest trap to set with minimal yard damage. Make sure you follow the instructions and it won't let you down. I caught another mole with it today and hope no others return. I also use the Bayer Advanced Grubex to kill their food source. I highly recommend this product.
Mole trap by TomCat
Would RecommendThese mole traps are very good. Over the last three years I have killed 20 moles with these easy to use traps. Most positive way to kill a mole. You know you have him/her verses the poison. Once you open the trap again to pull the mole from the trap, a burial in the tunnel is a fitting end. I currently have three traps. When I see evidence of mole activity I go after the critter with all three traps.
