It works pretty good. The manual needs to explain what the setting changes will do.

Security for a great value

1tb hard drive, (4) 1080p camera's expandable to 8 for under $250 which included 2 year extended warranty! I love the security of being able to view my property and outside surroundings from the comfort of inside while the hard drive only records with motion.

Good quality and price

While I haven’t permanently installed all 4 cameras, I setup 2 inside pointing out windows. Video quality is great even at night. Setup was a breeze although I’ve only used my iPhone with it and not my Windows pc as of yet. While the mobile app has basic functions, it could use improvements and more functionality. I’d recommend this system. 4 stars, not 5 due to mobile app.

Nice

Easy to install, just run the wires and connect. Clear daytime and night vision is good. Video is a little grainy at night, but still good, especially if it's close to a motion light. Easy to set up all the preferences, you just have to play around and see what suits your situation. This is an 8 channel recorder, so buy 4 more cameras for twice the coverage. The online app is great for when you aren't home.

DVR

I am very pleased with the DVR that I purchased! I have not changed out any of the cameras yet, but plan to soon. We have had our old DVR for some time (34,000 hours) and just had to replace it now. Thank you for such good products!

Decent Security Cam System

Replaced an older Swann Security Cam System with this one. Had to get used to the "fisheye" lens but works fine with some cam adjustments and the picture quality is better. I was disappointed with no prerecording options like my old less expensive unit had with multiple prerecord time adjustment choices. This one has a "Prerecord" button in its menu but doesn't appear to do anything as far as doing any prerecording.

Easy install and image is very clear

Installation was a breeze, the only problem is a camera had a small crack on the lense. we still installed it because it’s hardly noticeable thru video and because we were going out of state. Other than that would be a 5\5. All wires you need are there and arrived in like 3 days!

Our Swann security system was easy to install and easy to use. I installed the system myself with no issues. Shipping from Swann was quick (within 3-5 business days). I'm still learning how to use some of the features on the app but for viewing live video the app is very good.

These cameras are outstanding. Clear day pictures with true color. Night pictures are truly amazing. Viewing the pictures on a monitor is like looking out a window.

System seems to work well but the software could use some improvement

Installed the DVR8-4580V system today. The physical installation went well as did the connecting it to the network. Working through how to get the system to handle events, communicate with my iPhone and windows system was not quite as plug and play. The windows system was a nightmare and still not totally there. The fact that they only support IE in windows and require a plug in even for that to work was not what I expected in a modern web world. Still more to do but hopefully this review will s...

It's new to me. There was a little complex to me to install and configure. after a few times tried to find out and call in for help. finally I can monitor and enjoy it.

Great replacement for old setup

This was a replacement to an older no name brand I had. The sale price, HDMI and Ethernet was the selling point. Now I can view when away from home and now have 8 cameras hooked up. Works great for my needs.
