What Customers Are Saying
The manual log splitter is effective for splitting smaller logs and firewood, with customers praising its portability and value compared to motorized options. However, some users report issues with its limited power and durability, leading to difficulties with harder woods or larger logs. The overall consensus is that this splitter works well for light-duty use, but may not be suitable for heavy-duty or frequent splitting tasks.

Would RecommendThis is so easy to use. No set up. If you need a low volume of spliting this is great. Had a patio party everyone wanted to use it. I did not know it had wheels so very easy to tip up and roll to store.
WORTH IT!
Would RecommendGot this to split some firewood that was delivered. I first just used an axe & a 2 pound mallet but that was way too much trouble! I knew that I needed a better way but I didn’t have the space to store, or the $ to buy, a gas or electric model. I bought this thinking that, if it works, I’ll use it every year ... best money I’ve ever spent! I just wish that I’d done it sooner.
Works great
Would RecommendThe first day on the job, the Sun Joe split over a cord of wood. No issues, works like a champ. A word of warning, if it seems like there is a lot of pressure and the wood is not splitting; check the metal catcher/guide. If the log is caught, you will bend not only the log catcher but you bend the handles as well. Splitting the logs was easy, actually too easy which I love.
Great Tool
Would RecommendThis splitter wedge is exactly what I needed. I don’t trust myself throwing an axe so this tool is what I have instead. It handles fairly large logs in diameter. Easy to operate.
No oil
Would Not RecommendWas able to split 3 logs before ram would not retract. Customer support states they do not come with oil because they leak. Nowhere does it state that in the packet. Going to return.
Recommend the Sun Joe Splitter
Would RecommendWorks precisely as advertised. Follow the instructions and it splits the recommended sizes of logs with ease. Appears to be quality construction and is a value compared to motorized splitters. Safer and easier to use than an 8-lb maul.
Fantastic for a female to use!
wanted to have something a woman could use to split logs so that I can get logs ready for the fire without asking my husband to do it all the time. I have bad shoulders, so I can’t swing an ax, and don’t feel comfortable doing that anyway! Once you learn how to use this splitter PROPERLY, it’s really quite simple! I use it to split my wood all the way to kindling!!! I love this splitter! Would highly recommend. And there’s a great YouTube video a fella has put out to use it. The instructions wer...

Does the job
Would RecommendWorks like it suppose to. Better than an axe or maul. Don't be in a hurry. Portable but has some weight to it. Really hard on my back having to bend over so much to load and unload logs on it. I would not recommend if you use very much wood and can afford an electric or gas splitter.
Convenient
Would RecommendThis tool can be used in any place. Because is manual, no need of any fuel and the inconvenience that gives to have the device outside. With this device the split can be done indoors. I love it.
Log splitter
it works pretty good, Make sure the butt end of your log is cut off flush or the ram try's to move one way or the other this tends to bend the strap that guides the ram, The strap is weak but works just make sure the log is cut off flush I cannot stress this enough.

Best tool I’ve ever owned
This log splitter has helped me split numerous cords of firewood in the time I’ve had it. I’ve split log rounds up to 20” in diameter and 20” in length, and the unit seems capable of handling even larger rounds than that. Unlike splitting rounds with a splitting maul or axe, this unit allows you to make clean, even, uniform cuts which makes stacking the firewood easier. And more importantly, this unit saves your arms and back from the exertion of a maul or axe. My wife is 5’1, 98 pounds, 67 year...

1 Cord at a time, the easy way
Would RecommendI completed splitting one cord of firewood with ease and appreciation of this great product! The only improvement I see is that the rolling wheels could be a larger diameter. It was safe and simple to operate.
poorly engineered splitter
Would Not RecommendUnfortunately this splitter is very limited by the short distance the piston can move towards the cutter. Longer logs are perhaps doable but every other splitter I have owned the piston gets sgnificantly closer to the cutter. For my needs this product is useless. In addition, the the poles for pumping the hydrolics bend when attempting to split hardwoods like hickory. Don’t buy this product.

Great Way To Split Logs At Home!
I live on a lake and occasionally have trees or limbs to cut up and split so I can burn them in my fire pit. This splitter works perfectly! I wish I would have had one of these 10 years ago! It's easy to use and easy to store. It's also extremely powerful! I had no idea that a product like this existed. It's so simple and so effective!

Just flat out would not split my oak logs
Would Not RecommendI don't think I ever wanted something to work more than this splitter. I tried 3 pieces of oak, each about 8 inches in diameter. What I found to be the case is this: - The left handle won't even budge as soon as it gets resistance - The handles bend under stress - The log machine doesn't stay in place. You have to stand on it, but there are no places to stand - Reaching over the splitter to move the handles in awkward - It always stopped well before the wood was split with just a clicking sound...

Exactly what I needed
I live in a cabin off grid and was always throwing out my back/shoulder splitting wood with a maul. This machine is more powerful than a splitting maul and doesn’t hurt my back to use. It’s a little slower to use than other methods but it’s kind of fun to do. I keep it in my wood room and that’s another advantage- it works in a low ceiling area, unlike a maul. It has a bigger piston on the left side than the right; at first I thought that was a weird flaw but it’s actually smart design— the b...
