At first I thought the paint was chipping off the top. Then I realized it was bird droppings. It was also covered in dust and other junk. Clearly the inside had been used because it had bird seeds stuck to the inside seams of the feeder. Would Not RecommendThe nylon cable failed and the birdfeeder fell as soon as I filled it and hung it. I attempted to tie a bow line and so far it is holding but not sure how long that will hold given that it is a nylon cable. Poor design with the cable just clamped. Would not recommend.

This has been a heavy duty bird feeder I've used for a while now. At least the type/model. This newest one looks better but the top is not screwed on to keep critters out such as squirrels and or raccoons, etc. That baffled me. Otherwise, it's heavy duty.

Big Feeder for birds and squirrels
The XL bird feeder is huge and a great value for the price, I have found though that the squirrels are good it getting the birdseed to fly out! The birds love it as well have seen all sorts of different bird species visiting, trying a new food this week to deter the squirrels! However the squirrels have torn it up! So that’s a plus!
