What Customers Are Saying

The Studor Mini-Vent Air Admittance Valve is a plumbing solution that helps eliminate odors and improve drainage. Many customers report it effectively solves issues like slow drains and sewer gas smells. The valve is easy to install, fits both 2-inch and 1.5-inch pipes, and provides an affordable alternative. However, some users experienced problems with the valve not working as intended, leading to continued drainage issues or even increased odors. Overall, the valve seems to be a good option when traditional venting is not feasible, but customers should be prepared to try alternative solutions if it does not fully resolve the problem.

Plumbing code approved

Would Recommend

This mechanical vent is approved for use by inspectors so it is a legal product unlike the cheaper versions that you find on the shelf. I hate the all in one 2"/1-1/2" adapter though. I only use it on 2" pipe. For 1-1/2" pipe I buy a female adapter as the included one flares out for the optional bigger pipe and looks dopey.

Worked once

We used this on a kitchen remodel. Tested the drain and it worked properly. The next time the sink was used it was a very slow drain with a lot of noise. I unscrewed the vent and it instantly drained. Will be replacing it with a Oatly tomorrow.

##Didn't do the job

Would Not Recommend

Got recommendation online. Item fit perfectly and looked appealing, but didn't work to prevent sewer fumes from entering manufactured home. The odors actually increased. Very disappointed to find that the least expensive black mini vents ($6) worked much better. Problem however, is not completely resolved. Could not recommend in good faith.

Poor quality control

I purchased 3 valves. Each one leaked sewer gases into house when sinks were used. Purchased an Oatly and had no issues.

Easy Install, Works Great

Would Recommend

Discovered that a bathroom didn't have a proper vent stack. My options were to rip open a wall and add a vent stack, or give the Studor AAV a try. Solved my problem with out any issues. Make sure code allows for AAV in your area. If it does, this is an easy solution.

Used these in my father's older home, and they work great. Easy to install, takes care of odors that come back out of sinks due to poor venting systems. Very happy with my purchase.

Not a valve

Would Not Recommend

It cost me $185 to a plumber to discover that this is NOT an air admittance valve. It's a hunk of plastic with holes in it. It's not going to prevent septic gas from leaking out into your living space. I replaced a sink and had to replumb the drains including replacing the air admittance valve at the top of the underside vent. As soon as I closed the system I got a negative pressure backup in the drain. If I loosened the air admittance valve or the clean out it would drain like a champ. Tighten ...
