Very Handy Little Tool

I bought this compact wire stripper because I'm tired of using diagonal pliers to strip insulation and not getting consistent results. This little tool makes getting a consistent insulation strip each and every time super easy. A most handy and welcome addition to the tool kit.

Good overall but could be better

Although good ergonomics and seems to be well made, my pair just don't strip the wire very well. I'm an electrician and when I'm striping wire they don't cut down to the wire fully and only strip the outer casing. I have to use the 16/18 gauge cutter to strip 14 gauge wire. I prefer stripers with separate cutters for specific wire sizes. These put two wire sizes together which makes it work good for on gauge but not necessarily for the other. I wouldn't recommend this wire stripper.

Good Performer and a Great Price

I used the stripers with Solid and Stranded wire #12: etched labels are legible on both sides, cutters are sharp, return spring action works well along with locking latch, very nice finish. Grip is nice and compact but may be an issue for larger hands. I found it to be very comfortable and a breeze for one hand operation. I highly recommend this item.

Solid strippers!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My only real complaint is the handle lock design. It tends to lock when I'm using the pliers. Aside from that, they work great! And I love the size!

Great strippers!

AWesome tool to strip wires whether you do a little DIY electrical or are a card carrying Ready Kilowatt! Great construction and work as they should.

Compact wire stripper

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like the positive spring back, positive wire stripping and cutting, I wish it had the screw cutters with thread. Also not a fan of the compact handle, I get the fact it is a compact stripper, but to small for my hands and will be more difficult to find in the pouch. If your intention for use is for the casual user ie homeowner then it will probably pass. I assume it is a cheaper product.

Best Feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Trying these because I have liked the other Southwire tools I have and because of the stainless steel construction. The idea of being rust proof was enough to sell me. I must say they are very comfortable to use also. Although I haven't had them very long I look forward to using them for quite some time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i liked the product for most part. cuts great. also cuts many wires at a time (8). like the fact the spring will not fall out. like compact style. lock needs work, gets in way. they also could be better with 6-32 8-32 screw cutters

STRIPPER FAR EXCEEDED MY EXCEPTATION

Well designed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The large comfortable handles provide a great grip and fit my hand nicely, the wire cutting edge has a slight curve to it and seems to make cutting larger gage wire easy.

Grip and structure of blade

Improved Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The extra insulation on the handles make it very comfortable to use, the pliers grip on the end of the tool is a nice feature making this a multi use tool, and the stainless steel finish makes it easier to read the numbers on it.

The cutters worked well though you still have to rotate the cutters or squeeze and rotate so the wire insulation cuts all the way through. One thing a bit confusing is the markings on either side of the gauge slots.
