dispenser did not work for me
Would Not RecommendI was able to pull out only a few feet of tape from the dispenser with difficulty and then it jammed. I used different brands of fish tapes with dispensers in the past and never experienced a complete failure of dispenser like with this product. I tossed the dispenser and I am using the tape itself (nothing wrong with it, after I took it out from disassembled dispenser). I have been using other Southwire products from Lowe's without problems, but I do not recommend this one.
Works as Expected
Would RecommendWorks as Expected. A little difficult to wind and unwind at times but I'm sure it will improve when it's a bit more broken in.
Works and Doesn't Work
Would RecommendSimilar experience to most everyone else here. It works extremely good for its intended purpose, but it does NOT wind back up. Currently i have about 8 feet of it wrapped and zip tied around the housing because it does NOT go back in. Terrible construction for that but like I said, the main purpose of getting cables behind the wall? Solid work.
So worth it
Would RecommendJust bought a house and had to run electrical through the finished basement, cause previous owners never did. There would be no way for us to have been able to run the wires without this. We would have had to pull down the paneling and sheetrock and put it back up. Saved us a ton of time and money.
Great Fishtape for Home owners
Would RecommendWorks well for small runs when you need something stiff. However I feel like for shorter runs you’re more likely to need something with more flex in it and the narrower fish tape they make might be a better choice as it will bend more easily.
Couldn’t have completed my job without it
Would RecommendThis helped a lot to feed wires in my walls that had insulation. It’s impossible without this fish tape.
Too tight
Would Not RecommendCould not get tape to extend out past 2 feet without binding up, and more trouble winding up. Very tight. Returning for refund. Going to HD to buy a Klein.
