What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the kit for straightforward instructions and quick testing, with many appreciating the 40 included capsules and value. The pH test earns consistent praise for accuracy and reliability, with results matching lab confirmations. However, significant concerns dominate: nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus tests frequently fail to produce color changes or give misleading results, even with known nutrients added. Many report capsules are hard to open, powder spills easily, and narrow test tubes are difficult to pour into. Despite ease-of-use appeal, most view it as a basic pH tool only, with the NPK functions unreliable.

Would RecommendNice test kit

Kinda difficult to work with.
Would Not RecommendThe directions are somewhat confusing and hard to follow. The test capsules are really small and difficult to handle. Also, the capsule colors don't match the colors in the directions. The results are hard to interpret and sometimes ambiguous. All that being said, I compared may results with a commercial test and they are pretty similar.

Good Do It Yourself Soil Test Kit
The kit was easy to use and gave fast results. I don't see a reason to buy a kit where you send your sample to a lab and have to wait for the results.

Working so far
Would RecommendJust what I needed

Super basic. I should have bought a better one
Pretty rinky. It reminds me of a bad version of a mid 20th century chemistry set. Results are not apparent and require too much time and effort.

OK for pH and K, not for N and P
Would Not RecommendI did 8 tests in various parts of my garden. The pH and potassium tests worked. I got no results (just clear water) for all of the nitrogen and phosphorous tests.
Questionable Results
Would Not RecommendYou mix soil, a powder and distilled water then use a color chart to determine levels of pH, N, P, and K after soil settles to bottom. The colors were obvious for pH & K, but no color emerged for P & N. I used fertilizers in the past, so I can't believe the soil is completely missing these 2.
You hve to let it set over night
The color that came up wasnt on the chrt . Didnt show up until the next dy

Inaccurate
Did not work. The nitrogen does not change color. Did research, nitrogen cannot be tested with a test kit like this. The pH was the only thing that seemed close to accurate. The P and K were inconclusive. Sent the soil to a lab to test. An accurate test with far more nutrients was twice as much as this kit. Definitely worth it.

Usable but instructions could be better
Would RecommendI needed to test the soil in my yard. I did not want an electronic soil testers as most reviews seemed awful. This test kit came with holder and 4 vials (PH, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potash) and 10 reagent capsules for each vial. (10 for each test type - 40 total tests). My issue was in how the instructions were written. The PH test was straight forward. But as I read it the first time you would repeat for the other 3 tests. This was not the case. In fact, you needed to measure a bit of soil...
