Why would they design it this way??

The main problem I have with these is the way they set up (or more accurately failed to set up) the securing system. Take a look at the pictures and you will see a row of nice neet screw holes. Well that isn't what you're looking at. The sheet metal doubles back under that so the head of the screw works by going through the over sized hole you see on top and pinching the edge of the sheet metal on the other side instead of just going through. The back edge doesn't even have holes. The result is...

Not enough screws

Had the pieces installed by a contractor! Looks and works good after heavy rain. To bad ups can't handle shipping better. 3 of the 8 boxes in the order were damaged due to dropping or whatever. Need more screws to do it right. Ended up pop riveting the overlapping ends for more strength.

A ski-jump for a deluge

These work fine as long as the rain is gentle. If the rain is hard or anything more than gentle these become a ski-jump for the water. Expanded-metal screens work much better.

Great Product; Easy to Install

I have some gutter that sit beneath some large oak trees and I desperately needed to cover them with something that would keep the leaves out and allow the rain in. This product is great material, easy to snip to size when needed and set right into place. Was about to install 2 packages in about an hour with a tough 90 degree corner that has overflow guards. The edges are sharp so be careful and wear some gloves when you are snipping them.

The Smart Screen Aluminum gutter guard

This gutter guard when in stalled per instructions improves strength of your gutters to withstand a ladder leanning on then without flexing. Great price compared to other gutter guards. I pre-drilled the backside of the gutter guards because The scerws that came with it will cut through the gutters but self tapping sheet metal screws wpold be better. The fit of the gutter guards will work great if your gutters maintain thre 5" and 6" standard size but if your installer for the gutters did not ...

Great Purchase

I purchased these gutter for the easy of installation, value, and ability to keep my gutters clean. I was able to have the gutter guards installed (4 gutters, about 25ft each) within 3 hours. Installation was very easy and they actually strengthened the gutters! We have been in a mini-drought so haven't seen a full test, but with fall upon us it is so nice to see the leaves drop on the gutter guards and blow away with the wind! Highly recommend purchasing!

All It Promised

I installed over 200' of this guard. The ease of installation was nice since the work was off of a ladder. It has proven to be what is was advertised to do.

Best GutterGuard ..you wont regret it

had previous screens that went under shingles but they were angled. every roof expert I spoke to says to get ones that lay flat with the holes in them. easy to install.. takes all the hard rain with no overflow...easy to blow leaves off but most of the debris just blow off in the wind. I'm telling you buy these and you will not regret it.

Aluminum Gutter Guards

I tried using plastic gutter guards and they did not last. These gutter guards are aluminum and strong, I am hoping they will be better since they are not plastic.

Bought this one box to evaluate product then ordered ten more boxes to install on house!

The instructions they give should show more detail, one video shows the Smart Screen going behind the drip edge and in another video they show the Smart Screen going ontop of the drip edge, little confusing. I believe that Smart Screen should work better than the plastic ones I have on my house now, but time will tell.
