Ratings & Reviews for Screen Tight 12-in Plastic Screen rolling tool ( Blade Included )
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
This screen rolling tool received mixed reviews. Some found it easy to use and effective, but most reported issues. The roller wheel was too wide, making it difficult to properly insert the spline into the screen frame groove, often resulting in an incomplete or uneven installation. The included blade/knife was poorly designed and tended to tear or cut the screen incorrectly. The overall build quality was low, with many reports of parts falling off or breaking easily. For many, the tool simply did not work as expected, requiring the use of other tools to complete the job.

Cheap crap
Would Not RecommendOne star because we were eventually able to use this tool to repair our screen. But the screws were so loose that they fell out when we opened the package, and we had to disassemble and reassemble the whole thing to make it useable. Cheap plastic, poor construction, would not buy again.
Cheaply made
Would Not RecommendI thought this looked like a great option - having the spline installer and also, the screen cutter. Unfortunately, the screen blade is difficult to open and close (unsafe, but to get the blade to retract I find myself having to press down on the blade release button while I bang (firmly tap) the blade to get it to seat).

A definite don't buy
Would Not RecommendI wish I had read the reviews before I bought the tool. All the bad reviews were true. It is no better than the cheap plastic ones
Great Improvement to Standard Spline Tools
Would RecommendI've been using the standard two-wheelers for thirty years and I've never liked them. I have a pair of the plastic ones and I've used a wooden one with a metal wheel. On each of them the wheel is loose, which takes away control when you're pressing the sooner hard into the groove. This one, however, has a well-mounted wheel so you can push hard without losing control and risking a rip in the screenwire. That larger diameter wheel stays in the track better, too. It's worth mentio...

works ok after learning curve
once you figure out it's quirks it actually done relatively ok.
Easy to use for a first-timer and it works
Would RecommendI needed a couple of window screens for a utility room where a dryer needing makeup air is located. Never made a window screen before. I didn't even know it was possible before stumbling on the materials at Lowes. This spline roller tool is essential to the process. Also comfortable to use. Good grip surface. Easily compresses the rubber spline into the frame's grove.
Meh.
Would Not RecommendI bought this to use on re-screening an old aluminum screen door. The roller part was too wide to fit in the track. The "cutter" part was okay, but not great. I wish I still had the cheap one that I used years ago. It worked better. Unfortunately, this was my only option in the store. I ended up using a screw driver to insert the spline - slow and tedious.
