strong router

This router has good reviews online separate from Lowes website. I have used it several times in a router table and have found it to be a nice strong router replacing a 40 year old Craftsman router that finally broke. The adjustable speed and guide that is built in to the head for the electronic speed is a nice useful feature. I also like that it has the ramp up start feature.

Great Skil Router

It works great, the safety features, and the price was good.

Easy to use for beginners!

The Skill router was really easy to use. The instructions are easy to follow and the variable speed makes it so you can get the best cuts for the type of wood your working with. One thing to note is that the router can only use bits that are smaller than 1 1/4 inch. I bought a large pack of skill bits and couldn't use a few because they were to wide in diameter for the tool.

Absolute Junk

Absolute junk. Ive had the 14 amp router for just over a year. Used it about 12 times. Now, every time I turn it on, it immediately shuts off and says overload on the screen. I find it hilarious that there is programming in this router for it to state overload on the digital screen. I will never purchase another skil product ever again. I learned my lesson on this one. I only purchased this junk router because porter cable no longer makes routers.

Replacement

Recently purchased due to my 25yr old craftsman finally quitting. Loved the price and the soft start. Only used 1/4” shank bits thus far but happy with the power, not to mention the fixed and plunge base. Need to see if it will mount to my craftsman table but otherwise very happy with the router

Work great at a great price

Works well. The only issue I've had it that the plunge base will sometimes get stuck after releasing the locking lever. Other than that, it works well. I would have given it 5 stars if not for that one issue.

Skil Plunge router combo

Excellent! value for money. Very Powerful with electronic controls. No so happy with the edge guide that came with it. What do you recommend as an after market edge guide?

Don't buy if you're looking for a plunge router

Could not even attempt to try it out. I needed a plunge router, but right out of the box the base was wobbly and impossible to center. Looking at the springs set up, the guide "pipes" were not in their bases. Impossible to get them to stay down. No way to fasten, they apparently just shove in. Pure junk. Skil should be ashamed of this. Do Not Purchase!. Returning this tomorrow and look for a real plunge router.

Great support.

Easy to work with. Had a little problem called support and they mailed a complete setup. Was able to finish my project and am planning another. As a result of such great service, when I needed a new miter saw of course I bought a Skil 10 in.

Happy camper

Solid build and good power. Did a few test runs with various bits and wood.. worked better than I expected. The dust shroud works great as did the led lights. It's my first plunge unit and it was quite easy to use. I'm a happy camper with the purchase.
