What Customers Are Saying
The product received mixed reviews. Many found the risers to be of good quality and easy to install and paint, appreciating the pre-primed finish and ability to cut them to size. However, a significant number reported issues with warping and cupping, which made installation difficult and resulted in an uneven final appearance. Some recommended spending more for higher-quality solid wood risers instead. While the product works well for some, the widespread reports of warping suggest potential quality control concerns.

Would RecommendThis product was a lifesaver for our re-treading project! Removing old carpet revealed MDF treads that I swear were glued down with a full tube of Liquid Nails on each tread! Required ALOT of muscle and some damage to existing risers. Covering them with this product was a perfect fix. I give 4 stars only because I found they cupped and warped slightly when I painted them BEFORE installing. This required some finessing to get the fit right but overall, very happy. Would recommend

Good product
Would RecommendThin for wood riser board. I recommend running 150 grit sandpaper over it before painting. Leaves a smoother wood grain.

Decided to spend the money and go with real oak
Would Not RecommendAfter I bought this, I decided to spend a little bit more and get real red oak risers to match the oak tread instead of this product. Very glad I did. I was upgrading just two carpeted stairs to be hardwood and not doing a whole stair case, so it was worth it to me. I used minwax pecan color to stain the oak twice and then put three coats of polyurethane on it. The result far exceeded my expectations. Glad I did not skimp.
