What Customers Are Saying
The product received mixed reviews. Many found the risers to be of good quality and easy to install and paint, appreciating the pre-primed finish and ability to cut them to size. However, a significant number reported issues with warping and cupping, which made installation difficult and resulted in an uneven final appearance. Some recommended spending more for higher-quality solid wood risers instead. While the product works well for some, the widespread reports of warping suggest potential quality control concerns.

Would RecommendThese are OK, but you might be better off spending the extra money on the ones they have in the store that are a few dollars more. With these you can still see the wood grain because they are not solid wood, but pieces glued together. The slightly more expensive ones don't show the wood grain, its more solid. The picture shows the difference of the two, if you can see it.
Try something else
Would Not RecommendWood quality is really flawed and cheap. I’ve sanded then painted with multiple coats of good quality paint and still the surface looks awful. I haven’t installed them yet. Wish I could return them and try something else. Waste of money.

Terrible bowing / cupping… do NOT buy these!!!
Would Not RecommendAs soon as these get a single coat of paint on them they start bowing / cupping… to the point where they probably aren’t usable. The quality control at the factory is terrible and these are definitely not ready to use / functional. Out of the 6 I bought every single one started bowing/cupping as soon as they got a coat of paint on them. Do NOT waste your time with these junk stair risers.
Warped and difficult to attach
Would Not RecommendI bought 13 of these to go with the new oak treads I was installing on an existing staircase. All 13 were warped, causing them to stick out top and bottom. This prevented me from using adhesive alone to apply them as had been my plan. When I tried to put a nail through one, it split. I had to predrill holes for the nails and use more nails than I wanted to in order to pull the warped board into place against the existing riser. The wood is hard enough to resist the head of even a finish nail, so...
