SAFEST WAY TO USE A GENERATOR

Bought this to make it easier to power circuits that were critical in my home using my generator. The unit was very easy to install, even though I did have to use a bit of a different approach to mounting in due to the design of my breaker box. My breaker box is recessed into the wall and rather than purchase the additional recessed mounting box for the switch, I was able to use a knock out in the box and wire it in that way. No Need to Run Cables

I purchased this Reliance ProTran Transfer Switch after the last power outage. During that power outage, I had to run cables from the portable generator through windows to those appliance I couldn't do without. I had enough of that. Using this switch, there is no need to run cables. I hired a licensed electrician to install the unit. Lifesaver when power is out

hi, bought this unit for installation for our generator... and already had to use it when our power when out for a few hours... we had lights , heat, no lost food in fridge, and no more flashlights and candles for us.... only if I had known.... how really truly this item hook up is for convience and need not to worry for the power to go out again.. we're safe....

Installation Easy .. Could use an exterior box

I am not an electrician, however, I do have a basic understanding of wiring. Installation was easy. The pre-wired pigtail made most of the work inside the panel box easy to do. The only drawback was the exterior plug which gets mounted on the house. No electrical box was provided for the male receptacle and they are not easy to find. I purchased this switch after "Hurricane Sandy" ravaged our area. I knew I would need a switch like this before I even bought my generator, so this was first on my list. Extremely easy to install, I did it while minding to a two year old! I am comfortable working with wiring, but I am in no way an electrician. It took me about an hour to complete installation. I installed this transfer switch for power backup. Easy to install, you only need to watch the included instructional CD. It works great, makes life much more easy during a electricity failure.

The 7500 watt transfer switch was very easy to install. The. Wire lengths supplied were long enough to weach all of my breakers. You have the option of plugging the generator into the transfer box using a supplied outlet, or wiring it directly. I've only had to use it once so far and it worked flawlessly.
