Not the same as the Fiber-Classic Smooth model

This model caught my attention because it looks like Therma-Tru's Fiber Classic Smooth-Star model, S210. However, based on a check a local dealer did with the Therma-Tru rep, there are some important differences: this Benchmark version has 1) a wood jamb instead of composite one, 2) a thinner fiber glass skin, 3) lighter weight weather stripping, 4) a cheaper sill and 5) the lock block inside the door that secures the latches & dead bolt is not as sturdy. OK door but poor jambs

The door seems fine but I was disappointed that the legs of the jamb were not pressure treated at the bottoms like a quality door. I would do a slab instead of prehung next time.

Great weather sealing

These doors really are fantastic at keeping the outside weather outside. We installed two of them as inside front doors into an un-insulated entryway, and they made a huge difference. The kerf weather seals are about 1/2" thicker than you get on most outside doors. This makes them a bit more difficult to close, but it's worth the oomph you've got to give them.

Horrible assembly

The door is fine. The frame is okay. The person who attached the door to the frame needs to be fired. The hinges set into the frame were very placed accurately. The hinges set into the door were horribly crooked. The door wouldn't swing more than two inches until it stopped. I had to fill the existing holes in the door edge,align the hinges correctly drill new pilot holes for the screws. Works fine now.

Hinges were put on out of position. Trim was nailed into door and made it unable to open.

New Back Door

The entire process from choosing the door type, to having someone come over to measure the dimensions, to the actual installation of the door was smooth and professional. Lowes gave us exactly what we asked for and we couldn't be happier. Starting the process for the front door now.

Great door, poor handling and storage by Lowe's

The door itself is great, however, the handling and storage at my local store created deep gouges and black marks on the door frame. They need better protection such as shrink wrap, or employees that care about the handling of materials so they don't get damaged.

Solid security door !

Very pleased with this door. It made for a great installation. When I shut the door it sounds as solid as a proverbial rock. And it looks great too. Buy this door ... you won't be disappointed !

Great Garage door!!

I was able to install this door myself and I am 74 years old. This door and the other front door I installed saved me $5,000 dollars that a top door company wanted to charge. It was well worth the two-days do it myself time I needed to remove the old door and install this one. I was surprised that I needed to paint it, but that was pretty easy on a couple of "horses".

Low Quality

Hinges were not set in the cut out causing the seal to be uneven. Screws on hinges were not driven straight causing them to not seat to the hinge.

Exterior Door Review

Low cost but high quality. Looks great and is energy efficient. Creates a nice clean look for my home’s entry!

Therma-Tru fiberglass door

This door is well constructed and quality control is excellent. It met all my requirements and held installation sizing dimension perfectly

The quality versus price

The quality of this door was easy to install, my very first, and was exactly what we wanted for the price. I would probably rate it higher but seeing as how it’s my very first door purchase and install, time will tell.
