Works well for old work

It works perfect for an old work retro box as not sure why I'd ever use it for new work. Enough depth for dimmers, etc

Great for retro-fit (Old Work)

Well made and great concept. We always called these “old work” boxes as they are designed to be cut into an existing walls (note the tabs on top and bottom). Great way to modify existing structures. These will need a set of holding straps if used as a retrofit.

Good single gang box, but limited space.

Thick metal, rigid, sturdy construction, good strain relief. I wouldn’t use this for a GFI outlet due to the lack of space, but it’s fine for a single regular outlet, a switch or Ethernet ports.

Looks nice with metal cover.

Fit perfectly where I needed to put this box. Very easy to use.

Watch for Clearance When Adding Wire Clamp

I would prefer to have the wire clamp built in to the interior of the box, as once I add my own, it is now bordering on too large for the opening I have. Regardless, I was able to make it work, and I understood the design when I purchased it.

Works fine for GFCI

I have used these boxes many times. I have used them for switches, receptacles and GFCI receptacles. For GFCI receptacles they will be a little snug. You just have to make sure you don't have a lot of cables coming into the box or a lot of extra length wires in the box. You want at most two 12-2 cables in the box for a GFCI receptacle. More than that it definitely will not fit. Also make sure if you use wire nuts in the box make sure they are pushed all the way to the back of the box.

Lowes is not able to get the parts I need.

I found everything I need except one part that required an extra trip to go to their competitor. Bummer.
