What Customers Are Saying
The metal electrical box is praised for its sturdy, high-quality construction and suitability for various installation needs. Many find it easy to work with and install, with helpful features like knockout openings. However, some note it may be too shallow for certain applications, particularly for GFCI outlets. Overall, the box is considered a reliable and affordable option for standard electrical projects, though users should consider the depth requirements for their specific use.

Not big enough for GFCI!!!!
Would Not RecommendI installed these in a new kitchen island I built only to find out they were not big enough for a GFCI outlet. I had to redo everything.

Hole in the wrong spot
Would RecommendWe all love to use the thinner box. It takes up less space in the cabinets. So who's bright idea was it to put the rear hole for the wires in the center? Once the fastener is connected and the romex is coming through even the thinest outlet can't fit in this box. You can't use the top or bottom hoes because the wood covers them. The holes for this box should be on the back but one end. This way the outlet on the inside has space for the wires and the fastener.

Lack of products in Electrical Dept.
Would Not RecommendThe only reason i bought the metal outlet box is because the shelves in the Electrical Dept at the Lowes in High Ridge Mo were almost completely empty .

How to work the knock out
Would RecommendThis is a perfectly fine electrical box. Knockouts are har on any box if you don't know how. For those who do not know, there is a technique to open up the knockouts. Look for where the knock out is hinged - that is - attached more firmly. Go 180 deg across from the attachment tab, and as the other reviewer said use a hammer and screwdriver, and hit it - hard - with authority right at the edge. It will open like a flap. Pry it open and work it back and forth two times.

Standard knockouts, you just need to not be dumb
Would RecommendPut a screwdriver on the edge of the circle and smack with a hammer. Just like every knockout ever made.
