What Customers Are Saying
The cement color mix effectively colors concrete, mortar, and other cement-based materials in a rich terracotta or charcoal shade. The liquid colorant mixes easily into the cement, with only a small amount needed to achieve the desired color. However, some found it challenging to get the entire bottle mixed in before using, as the pigment can settle to the bottom. The color can also appear darker when wet and lighten as it dries. While most were satisfied with the results, a minority experienced issues such as the color fading over time or not matching their expectations.

Horrible
Would Not RecommendI have worked with coIoring concrete enough and know what I am doing. I agree with Casie this produces a very poor charcoal look. I used 1 bottle, rinsed them clean to get all of the coloring, per 60lb bag and the color is so off I wish I would have listened to the poor reviews. If you need to color your concrete use Direct Colors online. A bit more expensive but you know what you are getting. There colors are true and mix in well.
Not the color I wanted.
Would Not RecommendThe color was not what I thought it would be. I wanted a brown/buff color like the photo on the bottle. But the color was actually an orangey color.

mixology
Would RecommendI like that it helps to darken the red color.
More RED than buff
Would Not RecommendThe color was supposed to be “buff”, which should be beige/brown. Ours was very red. We added a lot to a sample of mortar, and it ended up a pink/salmon color. Be careful with this product. We had better results with a powder product.

Pleasing brown color
Would RecommendThe brown dye gave a nice even brown color to the concrete. It was easy to use. This product must be ordered online. It is not carried by the retail store. I found when using dye I have to let the concrete mix a little longer than normal to assure the color is fully distributed.
Meh
Didn’t change the color
NOT CHARCOAL
Would Not RecommendI never leave reviews, but if you are looking for a dark gray mortar, this is NOT it. Our mason mixed this a little heavier than the directions (meaning a whole contained of dye in a little less mortar) because we wanted to be sure it would end up dark. After it dried, it is the same color as regular cement. I am posting pictures that show my beautiful stone wall before and after the mortar. I am SO disappointed. On the second picture, you can see down around the hearth isn’t dry so it looks dar...
