Would RecommendCoated with black covering, I assume it is paint. Rubberized covering on each step plate. Easy access to mounting holes. Open on top and bottom of each support allows water to easily pass through. These holes were coated black as well. Sturdy. Able to easily support several hundred pounds.

Sturdy and attractive steps
The metal is very sturdy. Instructions would have made construction easier, but in the end, it all went together well. Position the stringers upside down. If using wood, be sure to center the same distances, mark screw holes to maintain each step in position. Then screw them down, again from the underside. I used the smaller holes and added 4 screws on each end of the steps. Probably overkill but I had the screws. (If you have more than 2 steps, you probably want help turning the steps over and ...
