Ratings & Reviews for Purdy 4-ft to 8-ft POWER LOCK Telescoping Fiberglass Extension Pole
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The extension pole is well-constructed with an adjustable length and convenient quick-release mechanism for attaching rollers. Users report it helps them reach high areas without a ladder, reducing physical strain. The power lock feature allows secure length adjustment without slippage. However, some customers have experienced issues with the locking mechanism failing over time, causing the pole to collapse or not stay extended as needed. A few also note compatibility issues with certain roller frames. Overall, the product is viewed positively when functioning as intended, but the durability and reliability of the locking mechanism is a concern.

Does not stay locked.
Would Not RecommendBought a 4ft-8ft pole a year ago. Doesn't stay locked, keeps collapsing. Have to hold both sections to do ceilings. I expected more from purdy.

Stopped working after light use.
Would Not RecommendI purchased a 4ft.- 8ft. Around 7 months ago used it on maybe on 3 jobs and locking mechanism jammed will not extend anymore. Definitely disappointed I have to have tools that won't let you down and can finish the job.

Fiberglass broke in a month
Would Not RecommendI bought the 6-12’ extension pole. Loved it but only after 3 months, the grip on the end of the fiberglass end crumbled off in my hand. Still useable if I want fiber in my hand.

Just the tip?
Would Not RecommendA product is only as good as it's weakest link, and that link happens to be the tip that threads into rollers. Overall the rest of the construction is good, good locking mechanism and all. Problem is, without a tip, it's an expensive stick to shake and not much else. Seems like the tips are either made of lead or cheap steel. Had high hopes for it, but those lasted about as long as it did. Don't think I'll be getting anymore extension poles as a precaution.

Own all if them 2 of them Broke
Would Not RecommendFirst off we have been painting for almost 40 years (family business) At first I thought this would be a solid product because it is significantly heavier than my wooster poles. However, not even after a year the handle grip on it is Broke and the other one doesn't lock in place it keeps slipping. I'll stick with my Wooster tools, less money and better quality

poles keep breaking
Would Not RecommendI just went to your website and read the reviews of this pole, not good at all. I've been painting for a long time and I've had a bunch of poles over this time. Your power lock poles are the first ones I've had that the locking tip breaks off. 2 of my poles have now broken off. Why would you not make a reasonably priced replacement part so people will not stop buying your poles? If I had read reviews of these, I would have never bought them in the first place. These are my tools, I won't keep bu...

Overall good quality except for the threaded end for attaching paint roller
Would RecommendI've got the 4'-8' extension pole. The treaded head broke off. Where do I find the replacements? Overall good pole.

Less then a year pole broke.
Would Not RecommendLess then one year with home use the metal attachment screw head broke off. The locking mechanism also jamed. If you get the runner handles wet black stuff gets all over your hands. Other wise it it could be fixed the pole still would be sturdy enough.

Easy to use
Would RecommendI have several power lock poles which I’ve had for several years. I love them but have 2 poles where the latch on the head has broke. Are there replacement parts for the heads or do I have to buy a new pole all together?

Lock snapped
Would Not RecommendI use a lot of purdy products and generally they are really good quality. I bought 2 frames and poles, quick changeover between colours is great. Now the lock mechanism on both poles has snapped rendering them useless as I can't find spare parts for them. Is my only option new poles ?

Load of rubbish
Would Not RecommendI have 2 of these poles and they have both started slipping after only a short period of use. I ended up going back to my years old Pro Dec one. Waste of money buying the rollers to fit if the poles don’t work

Fix the locking system please!
Would Not RecommendI have been a life long purdy user of all products and I love most of them. I have always used your extension poles. The new locking system is a failure across the board. I have probably owned atleast 6 of these newer style poles in all different sizes. They all slip over time. I have an 8 to 16 foot pole that rarely gets used and it started slipping the second time the pole was used. So this was not from repeated use. I hope you address and fix this problem asap and or offer some kind of replac...

Like the lock at any position but..........
I own the whole line of poles and really like the lock at any position feature. I get the most use out of my 2 2-4 poles but on both the roller locking pins have snapped and on one of them the position lock slips...now my 2 daily poles are useless...if I cant warranty the poles then I will be looking into other brands..which I really dont want to do because I like them

Slipping
Would Not RecommendI used this product for a few jobs and it began to slip on me and wouldn’t stay extended with consistent use. Disappointing to say the least as I’ve always been a firm believer in purdy products and spend a lot on their products. Brushes are hands down the best in market but the extension poles need better design work for for the daily grind of professional painters.
