What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise this shovel for its lightweight design and perfect sizing for young children ages 3-10, noting it encourages outdoor participation and learning. However, many report significant durability concerns, with the shovel bending or breaking during light digging, even in soft soil. While some find it adequate for raised-bed gardening or sand play, most reviewers emphasize it functions only for very gentle use. Overall, customers view it as suitable for toddlers in controlled settings but warn against expecting real digging capability.

Would Not RecommendBought for use at the beach. It bent on the FIRST shovel full of sand!! Very poor design and low quality.

Great for small transfer jobs
Would RecommendLove small size and weight but it does seem to be made for a kid. I used it successfully for small potting type jobs rather than actual digging holes. If you over tax it it breaks instantly. Just know its limits.

Don’t waste your money.
Would Not RecommendShovel head bent on first use. Bought 2 of these for kids (ages 6 & 7) to use in the garden and within 5 minutes both were damaged. Soil was soft.

Great starter shovel for kids
Would RecommendThis shovel was just the right height for a five year old. It doesn't hold much soil, which helps them to be able to lidt a shovelful of soil. Great introduction shovel for kids who want to help meaningfully with yard work.
No Frills, Suitable for Children Only
Would RecommendThis isn't the shovel you are going to use to dig out that stump...its the shovel your kids can use to dig in their sand box. As long as you are going into it knowing that, you should be pretty pleased. I am a little disappointed that the handle doesn't have a grip on it, would make it much more functional in my opinion. Otherwise, getting a small shovel for extremely light duty work or child's play.
