What Customers Are Saying
The sliding glass door mortise lock is generally a reliable and functional product, with customers reporting it is easy to install and effectively secures the door. However, some users experienced quality and durability issues, with the lock breaking or failing within a short time. While most found it a convenient and affordable replacement, a few had difficulty getting it to fit their specific door, requiring additional modifications. Overall, the lock appears to be a serviceable option, but customers should carefully measure their door and consider potential fit issues before purchasing.

Would RecommendIt fits perfectly replacing my existing vinyl patio door lock. Took me 15 mins to change it out and line things up. The handle took a bit of adjusting to keep the latch from being pushed out so that is the only hang up otherwise I hope this lasts me another 10 yrs.

Buyer Beware
Would Not RecommendI usually try to avoid leaving bad reviews but this product failed in less than a month of use. The lock movement felt cheap from day one which was concerning but it seems all the big box store only carry Prime-Line. The lock I pulled out of my door is stamped made in USA and has been in use since 2004. I am currently trying to find out who makes that so I don't waste my money on another cheap replacement.

Its the only one available
Would RecommendThe last one from Lowes lasted 5 years. I bought two this time, just in case. The mechanism was stiff after installation, it got much better after spraying the interior with lock lube. So beware, it is shipped dry inside.
Prime-Line Sliding Glass Door Mortise Lock
Would RecommendOne end of the little spring inside my existing door lock broke and the latch wasn't working properly (lasted well over 10 years). I was able to take the lock apart and bend the broken end of the spring and reattach it. But I decided to just replace it. This kit worked fine on my sliding door. Hopefully it lasts longer than some of the other reviews as I am expecting it to last as long as the original. Note: There are a couple different kits. Pay attention to the keyway when the hook is in the ...

new sliding glass door lock
Would Recommendwe put it in ourselves. we have learned from doing this before to tie a string on it so it does not slip and go down the inside of the door. works great.

it works
Would RecommendI had to replace the old broken lock but couldn't find exact same one and this is the only one we could use for our door. I works but doesn't operate smoothly as the old one. Well, if the old style is not available anymore, we have no choice. It locks and that matters to us after all.

Patio Door Lock
Would RecommendThis is the 3rd one of these I have installed on my sliding patio door in the past 5 years . It works great & I have become an expert at installing. They don’t last very long and there is a learning curve on installation. I recommend looking up a video on installation. My door does get a workout with the dog wanting in & out. Price is reasonable so it’s not a big investment.

Works but Stiff
Would RecommendI had to search around for a replacement lock with right dimensions and settled for this. I could not find brass like the original lock. This lock works very hard/drags, and I hope the internal spring does not break like the original builder's door lock that I replaced. I may try lubricant for garage door. Brass instead of steel would've moved more smoothly.

Standard builder quality replacement
Would RecommendTypically breaks every 1-2 years and requires a replacement of a frequently used sliding door. Initial installation may require a little lubrication of actual latch, or it is difficult to lock/unlock. I used some spray silicon on it and it worked like a charm.
Perfect Replacement
Would RecommendPerfect replacement latch for my sliding glass door. Latches better than the original one.
