Sliding Glass Door Mortise Lock

It was as advertised. Exactly replaced the original lock. Very easy to install. Quality seems to be as good as the original.

Installed easily, works like the original...

Most other reviews are critical of the durability of this product. I thought the action seemed a bit stiff, so I shot it full of Dri-Slide before installation, and the difference was amazing. Apparently the factory used none, so I docked them a star.

It works but...

It works but not as well as the original. It's kinda tricky to get locked properly.

Worked with some adjustment

This lock mechanism was replace one in a sliding glass door unit that is several years old. The part was very difficult to find, even thought the unit was bought & installed by Lowe's. When we put it in, the locking hook (I do not know the terminology) would not reach the plate mounted inside the door frame. After adding some shins, it finally works.

Fit my sliding door just right and works good. Just have to see how long it will hold up to a 2 yr old.

Glass door mortise latch

This latch is a direct replacement for standard sliding glass doors. Install was easy and the fit was right on.

Doesn't spring out like the original

I replaced the lock and handle mechanism because the plastic handle kept breaking buy the lock latch. I needed a new Mortise Lock also. It doesn't pop out like the old one did as easily and I have to have it halfway out for it to latch. Once it's latched, it seems to do the job.

constantly replacing item

I've had to replace this lock 3 times already and it just broke again. I'll be on the 4th replacement tomorrow. it's rediculous.

Works great

Honestly didnt know you could replace the lock on a sliding glass door. That being said. It was really easy to install and now I can lock my back door.

Built great with one exception

The locks work great but I have to say they have a terrible weakness to them and it's the small internal spring might be work 5 cents, they break all to often, and you end purchasing a new one in 6 months, because of a 5 cent spring failing. I have tried oiling them, using a spray lithium grease, outcome is the same, I would rather pay 30 bucks for one that will last 5 years,instead of 13 bucks for one that won't last a year. I only recommend this as it seems to be the only one available

Replacement lock for sliding glass door

Glad to find this at Lowe's. The original lock that came with our sliding glass door suddenly gave out recently,and the one we got at Lowe's works even better than the original!
