Broken Spring!

I can't begin to count how many of these I have purchased and installed. We go through two to three a year! As others have stated, the latch that was in the door lasted well over ten years and now these last a few months. There is a small spring inside that breaks. They are absolute JUNK, but I can't find anything else that will fit.

Won’t latch unless you hold it up as you close it even after adjustment of latch and rollers.

I reworked my 25 year old patio door last fall with a thorough cleaning, new rollers and lock mechanism. It went from a tug-of-war to open and close to a gentle one finger push. Seems to be a short lived item, reliability wise.

I bought the same item last year and it lasted all of one year! The one before it lasted about 10yrs. The original lasted 20yrs. I can only wonder where the first two were made and, of course, just how long will this new one last? I’m crossing my fingers. I like going to Lowes because I can get a military veteran’s discount on every purchase every day of the year!! Thank you Lowes.

Sliding Glass door lock

I purchase this lock every four to six months, since it is the only lock that fits my sliding doors. Unfortunately, the lock constantly breaks. Every four to six months the lock needs to be replaced. I open and close my doors quite often during the day as we have pets that need to be let out. Constant use of the door opening and closing causes something inside the lock to come loose and break. Only choice to fix our slider.

Average life of this latch is one year. Our sliding glass door is our only back door so it gets used often. But for the 18 years we've lived in this home I've replaced these at least 10 times. They work great until they don't. Without notice most times they just stop working. I think the spring breaks & jams the internals. Unit is not serviceable & replacement is only option.

Great replacement part

If you need to replace your slider lock assembly this one works great, easy to install took me about 30 minutes to take out the broken lock and replace it with the new lock assembly.

Patio Door Latch

This was pretty easy to change. You must follow the instruction to hang some kind of weight on the hook so both hands are available to put the screws in and not let the assembly fall down inside the door. Other than that it was an easy task.

Patio Door Lock

I bought the lock as a replacement and the installation was simple and it worked very well. The locksmith at the store was very helpful. He searched the shelves for an extended time and made sure I had the right one. Kudos to him and Lowe’s for their assistance. Thank you.

Perfect Fit

My old lock broke and I needed a replacement. The new lock fit perfectly and the lever action is very smooth.
