Poorly built

Like the other reviews of folks who use their door & lock often... ours breaks often also. No stars for the product quality 2 stars cuz Lowe's carries it & it fits.

Works like a champ

Item was available in store. Easy to install. Works great!

Good replacement Lock

It works as advertised. But, the only problem that I had with it, is that the latch throw is a tad shorter than the orginal and forced me to adjust that catch on the door jam. Otherwise, works pretty well.

Perfect fit and easy to replace

Took 5 minutes and works perfectly. So glad I didn't call a locksmith.

Loose screws

Be careful that the two mounting screws included aren't left inside the mechanism. I used the ones from the old mortise lock that failed after 17 years so I didn't need these. But I was having trouble with the replacement until I realized that there were two screws that had fallen into the mechanism. I was able to get them out and everything is working great.

sliding glass door mortise lock

I was not sure if this lock would fit my door but by talking on-line with a Lowes representative, I thought this might work. It fits to a tee and I am grateful for the assistance of the on-line representative. Product arrived quickly.

Be prepared to replace this item approx every 6 mo

This is the third one I have replaced in the last year and a half and it is all because of a small spring that breaks after approximately every 6 months.This sliding door is used several times a day and it is locked again after each use. it generally works just fine but then it breaks. I would like to find out if this happens to others that purchase this product and is there a recall from the manufacturer or is there a warranty that would replace it or better yet rebuild or redesign it to functi...

Mortise lock

Bought this mortise door lock as a replacement for one that failed after 30 years of use. I took the old one in to make sure I purchased the right replacement as there are 45 and 90 degree models. Easy install and works well. I hope it lasts 30 years also.

Easy to replace. Found "how to on google". Seems to secure the door tighter then the original lock.

The DIY replacement process was pretty easy. The biggest problem was finding the right replacement part. The video helped do that. Make sure you follow the suggestion in the video to use a pencil to prevent the latch from falling inside your sliding door frame. So far so good

It's only been in a week or so, but it functions just like the lock it replaced. Easy to install, fit my existing handle and door, hopefully this one will last another 10 years or so. It's a pretty basic sliding glass door lock, nothing too special about it.

Our latch broke and we needed one right away, went online and foundit, picked it up in store it's fixed now.

missing flat and split washers. no lever supplied.

Continues to have to be held in by r or l thumb while turning downward hoping latch doesn' t fall into open position (LOCKED) position while closing sliding door.

Not made to last

Unfortunately, this product is the only replacement device we can find for our sliding door. This is at least the 4 one we have purchased (of this same product) in less than 4 years. The original latch that came with the door lasted over ten years. Obviously quality is a thing of the past for this particular product.
