Ratings & Reviews for Harbor Breeze 16 -Gauge Landscape Lighting Cable Connector
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The cable fixture connectors are generally easy to use and reliable, especially for connecting 12 or 14 gauge landscape lighting wires. However, some customers reported difficulties with the metal prongs properly piercing and connecting thinner 16 or 18 gauge wires. Long-term outdoor use may also be a concern, as a number of customers experienced failures and water damage over time when the connectors were buried. Careful installation and following the instructions closely is recommended to ensure a secure and reliable connection.

Would RecommendEasy to use, but can also be very easy to misalign and either crack the unit or miss the wire when trying to pierce it. You need to use care when connecting. Still, it's much faster than silicone filled wire nuts.

Not water resistant
Would Not RecommendMade for outdoor lights but not water resistant. Kinda of an oxymoron
Portfolio cable fixture connector
Would Not RecommendThese are straight garbage. I don't think I've ever left a negative review about anything. But these are horrible. I followed the instructions to a T and when I went to plug it in there is no light. I fiddled with them for over 2 hours trying to trouble shoot. Not to mention the general design is hard to work with and the instructions aren't very clear. Lucky for me I had a buddy who does electrical work. He advised me to get the silicone waterproof wire nuts told me how to splice the hot wire...
Three of the four little spikes missed their wire.
Would Not RecommendTried many times and tightened with a wrench - no light. Gave up on the awful Portfolio design. Then spliced on a new Malibu connector to the pathlight wire and squeezed with the grip wrench and the bulb lit.
Go up to higher level of pixels
Would Not RecommendHappy with everything except for the pixels it is not as clear as I thought it would be. I gave up my 2005 Sony 60 inches, it was fading. but the pixels were better than the LG.
Excellent connector
Would RecommendThese are excellent lo-voltage connectors. Even our electrician praises them. We used them on 100± landscape lights on our property, and they have never faulted.

Best for connecting landscape lighting
Would RecommendFound these at Lowes after searching web for more of these. My first batch came from a commercial landscape supplier. These enable you to connect additional lights to an existing circuit run without cutting the original run. Most [all?] others available require cutting and splicing; many require two connectors per connection. Pricy, but a more durable result with less effort.

Excellent!
Would RecommendThese are my go to connector to fix the connectors that come on lights sold at that company with the orange sign out front.

Skip this product
Would Not RecommendSimply put, these are unreliable. I've put in dozens of landscape lights in various homes. I saw these and thought they'd be a simple and easy product to use that wouldn't require cutting or stripping wires. I spent about an hour trying to get the first one to work, taking it apart, checking connections, putting it back together... Never worked. I was convinced the light didn't work. Tested the light and it worked. Tried the second connector from the package, couldn't get it to work eithe...
Cable to Fixture Low Voltage Connector
Bought these connectors thinking that they would work with my old Intermatic low voltage lights. Unfortunately, the wires from my light fixtures will not accept the two prong design of the Portfolio Connectors. The cable from the transformer and the cable from the light fixture need to be similar.

Connector are junk
Would Not RecommendI bought a set of spot lights to add to my other lights but this connector is poor at best tried adding 2 lights but they would not make a connection. Thinking bout cutting off junky connector and hardwiring in but if light doesn't work not sure if Lowe's will take back.
Good but tricky
Would RecommendThese are good low voltage connectors, but they can be a bit tricky to use, especially if using 16 gauge wire. I was trying to hook up some lights with even smaller wire, but that would not work, the wire was too small. However, it will connect with 16 or larger but you have to ensure that the pins pierce the wire. I found it's best to have the system on so you can tell immediately if you make a connection when the light illuminates.

wire nuts work better than these connector
Would Not RecommendI used wire nuts to lay out my lights and decide how they looked, and then i decided i should use better connectors for final installation, 1 0f 5 of these Portfolio connectors worked as expected with 16 gauge wire, they are not not worth the effort.
2-CT cable fixture connection
Would RecommendBetter than any ow voltage connector I have seen or used so far. A little pricey but I love them.

Dont buy!
Would Not RecommendThis does not work... Not much to add to this review, just that we wasted our money.
LoVo Connector
Would RecommendDesigned for 16 gauge power wire and 18 gauge lighting fixture wire. If you use this connector to connect your main 16 gauge power wire to a secondary 16 gauge power wire, it is very difficult, but possible, to push the secondary 16 gauge wire into the 18 gauge connection receiver. That being said, the 18 gauge receiver is slightly larger than 18 gauge wire resulting in several attempts to make contact with the copper. My suggestion when installing new landscape lights is to install the connect...
