Great lights! Sparkle at night

These lights are beautiful. They sparkle at night and make our fence look incredible.

Good for decks, not driveways.

The lighting levels are low. Not meant to be driveway marker lamps, but would work good for deck posts. It's only 5 lumens. This type of light is intended to be used for more subtle lighting. Would be good to use around a hot tub as mood lighting. Keep in mind solar lamp batteries are subject to low performance if the temperature outside is very low.

Portfolio deck post caps

So I received the Portfolio deck post caps solar-powered lights. I used on a good site as an extra to the job. The homeowners like the look of them, but I didn't like the quality of them. For one it came with the wrong direction, not that I need them, but it was for something totally different. Two the additional attachments to connect to a post would only work on a 6x6.

Use as an Accent Light Only

I had high hopes for these deck post lights but the low lumen rating for them should be a clue as to how they can be used. They are very easy to install with included screws on 4 x 4 posts (or 6 x 6 posts with included adapters). They are equipped with replaceable AA batteries if/when these ultimately fail. Good lights for providing some amibent lighting

These lights are well designed. They have only a single led in them but due to the clever design of the reflective surfaces, they put out a surprising amount of light. Not enough to rely upon any kind of substantial lighting need but certainly enough to provide some visibility in areas that need some ambient kind of light. Gate lights.

The Deck Post lights were used to highlight our backyard fence gates. I installed them on top of a couple of 4x4 cedar post. I had to shim them up using the large accompanying bezels. One to small and one too large. The luminous was fairly lower than expected but worked.

Driveway or deck lighting

These lights are a nice accent to a deck or driveway. They give just enough light to see but don't overpower the night. The whole housing is plastic so do be careful when installing. The included instructions were for a different product, but you can easily figure out how to mount them. The batteries are make for a solar charger, just any rechargeable batteries might not work. Looks good

One main issue was they did not come with the correct instructions. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to get it open to remove the battery safety tab. Installed easily. Has an adapter for six inch posts but I didn't need it. I have only seen one lit up and it wasn't very bright but it may take a few days to have them work properly. Feels cheap. I am not sure how long they will last.

Bright Light, Good Looks

I needed pathway lighting between my mountain cabin and the outhouse that wouldn’t get buried with each snowfall. The Portfolio deck post lights did just the trick. Solar post lights

Good product for the price, easy installation. Durable plastic low light but works very well.Instructions sheet was not useful, but the install was very simple. Only had it installed for a week, so not sure how long they are going to last.

Attractive but little light source.

These 2 post lamps arrived well packaged and in good condition. The lamps are easy to set up with clear operating directions. I have brick fence posts and these lamps are ideally designed for 4x4" posts. A nice feature is that the lamp can be removed from the base quickly and easily. The Solar Post light caps provide a nice bit of light without having to run wiring. The caps are simple to install. Just screw on to either a 4x4 post or 6x6 post with the included adapter and hardware. The lights are plastic with a clear plastic cover for the light portion. Nice looking

I was surprised these lights charged so quickly. I set them to charge at 10am and that same night they were very bright. Easy to install and they look very nice. I will definitely be getting several more

Could be better

I recently acquired a different style light by Portfolio Landscape that puts out a decent amount of light for its size. I was mildly disappointed that this set of 2 does not do the same. They produce about the same amount of light as other brands, which is never enough to suit me. On the up-side, each unit only uses one AA battery that is easy to insert. Inexpensive but not sturdy

My confidence wasn't very high when I opened rhe box and it had instructions for a completely different product. Then I noticed one of the large bases was already cracked. They are packed tight in the box but really nothing there to protect them. I didn't need the large base so that was OK. I screwed a thin 3.5x3.5 strip to the top rail and mounted the small base over that since my posts are covered. Don't screw them down too tight. This plastic won't stand up to much pressure. I used this to mount on top of my mailbox post. Finding my driveway at night is a real problem since there are no streetlight near me. This worked perfectly. There were two in the box, so after the ground thaws, I will be putting another one on the other side of my driveway. It puts out a lot of light for it to be only 5 lumens.
