What Customers Are Saying
The Pennington One Step Complete Tall Fescue product has received mixed reviews. Many customers reported that the all-in-one formula worked well to fill in bare spots, with the grass growing quickly. However, some customers had less successful experiences, noting only partial or sparse grass growth in certain areas. Timing also seemed to be a factor, with better results when planting in the spring versus winter. Overall, the product can be effective for repairing bare spots, but results may vary depending on factors like climate, soil preparation, and proper watering.

Would RecommendThis did seem to work, but not in two weeks like I read. I even used some other grass seeds on the property and it did nothing but leave little sprouts where all the bald patches were. I am impressed, but underwhelmed. And of course, I did the classic, prep the ground, then used the Pennington One Step Complete 30-lb Tall Fescue Lawn Repair Mix, but yeah...what I stated previously is what I got.

Did not work
Would Not RecommendDespite following the instructions for seeding...tilling the area to be seeded, adding top soil and watering daily for two weeks we have seen no growth

Pennington is hands down the best grass seed
Would RecommendI used Scotts grass seed and products for years with mixed results. A couple years ago I started using Pennington and it is by far a superior product. One Step is great if you have any bare spots in your lawn. Lay it down thick, just like the picture on the front of the bag, and water it for 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening. My lawn has been completely transformed from using Pennington One Step, Easy Seed, and Lawn Booster.
Works fast
Would RecommendI’m so glad I brought this product it works really fast and my grass is so green

One Step
Would Not RecommendOne Step prides it's self in that the contents of the bag in one step will do everything. I personally would like to see the seed just sprout. I've not have good luck with this mix to date.

Thanks to rain and cool weather good growth
Would RecommendPlanting seed in the Spring is iffy. In the Fall without constant moisture also iffy. But timing and soil prep along with the moisture has been good for my small area of seeding. A previous bag without the above required multiple seedings but finally looks good this season.

Pennington is Garbage
Would Not RecommendThe "never buy this" and "don't waste your $" reviews on this product are accurate. I bought this stuff thinking it would revitalize some dying/tan spots on my lawn. Out of 75% of the bag being spread on all the places the grass was dying, one tiny spot (the size of my palm) actually ended up growing. The rest didn't do anything. This stuff is garbage. For something that actually works, try Marathon 15-15-15 Sod and Seed Starter and Spring and Fall Supplement. Apply that every 3 months to browni...

Worked for one bag. Not the other
Would RecommendThe first time I used this product, it was amazing. I have gorgeous grass in my front yard for the first time ever and I never thought I'd ever get grass to grow in these places. However that was for one bag. I got two of the 30 pound bags. One bag worked great, the other I still have not gotten anything to grow and I did it the exact same way as the other bag.

I would buy this product again.
Would RecommendI used the product along my driveway and in some areas in the yard. I watered 2 times a day and on the 10 day I started to see grass sprouting up. Be patient follow directions. I only see grass grass growing nothing else. Please see photos

actually works
Would RecommendWe've had bare patches in our back yard ever since we moved it. While the family was on vacation, I decided to give this a try. I did not turn up the dirt. I spread it out right on top and watered it down. Didn't think much of it. Then I went out and raked the pellets until the broke down. That seemed to work better. Two weeks was what it took for the grass to start coming in. Three weeks in and there's a good thick patches of grass
