Ratings & Reviews for Oatey Quadtro Quarter turn ball valve Copper sweat Washing machine Outlet Box
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
This product is well-constructed and offers flexible configuration options. The quarter-turn valves are a convenient feature for quick water shutoff. However, some users reported issues with the soldering process, as the plastic box can melt when connecting copper pipes directly to the valves. It may also not be suitable for retrofit installations with limited wall access. Overall, this is a good quality product, particularly for new construction, that provides a functional laundry hookup solution.

Would RecommendProduct is ok but wished the drain hose opening to the box was designed differently. My washer drain hose was too large for the opening. I had to add a piece of pvc to the end of my drain hose to make it fit in the drain opening.

Not worth the price
Would Not RecommendWhen I opened this package and saw what I got for $35.00 I was disappointed. I was in a rush so I had to install it. It's basically a plastic box and two valves. It should be priced more along the lines of $19.99. If you bought the valves along they would be $7.00 each. Add the plastic box and tabs for $5.00 and you would be at $20.00. Not worth any more than that. I also had to purchase more fittings to extend the valves because they really were not sweat type fittings. Plus there needs to mor...

Can not sweat this.
Would Not RecommendThe box shows you soldering right into the valve. I tried it and others are right, even taking the valve out, you can not solder to it without melting the plastic ring that can not be removed from the valve. Do not try to solder to this. Solder a pipe to a stub that can be screwed to the valve, then solder to the stub. I learned the hard way. I got it done, but melted the plastic rings on the valves some.
Low Quality
Would Not RecommendWe wanted something we could turn off and on when going on vacation and the blue cap broke off and now it is ineffective, and fixing it is no easy task. Made cheaply in Taiwan. I would look for something a little higher quality since when you install this you typically have your walls opened up.
Watch Out
Would Not RecommendRead the review about melting when soldering but figured it was an easy way to mount a new washer set up.You have to wonder why the tubes are threaded if its a solder connection...anyways, little bit of flaming but got them sweated in, only to watch the mounts melt away almost completely. Don't think there is a way to pull them out of the container while soldering , but there should be. Or, longer to keep them away from the plastic as another reviewer mentioned.
This product was exactly what I needed
Would RecommendI installed the outlet box into an existing wall. The fasteners were of no use to me. I had to fir out to the sides of the box and anchored it that way. Other than that it worked great.
Better than expected
Would Recommendthis is a good replacement for an existing or a new construction installation. I had one valve that was going bad on my 15 year old home. I wanted to replace the one valve, but good luck finding those parts. This kit was fine, complete, and valves seem to be quality. The valves have a nice feel when turned...hopefully you will turn them on and leave them until your washer fails. It's a little tight getting a torch to heat the valve/pipe connection to the plastic, but doable. The connections sold...

Cheaply made, but does the job
Would RecommendI didn't particularly like the way the spouts just turn and "click" into place rather than having the tighten them down or something. The super-thin gasket just doesn't seem to be thick enough to create a good seal to keep the box from leaking should water drop inside. And, come on... they can certainly use some heavier duty material to make the box from. Nothing is ever made to last the way it should anymore.... The ball valves seem decent enough, though, but they're even a little too easy to o...

Had to return
Would Not RecommendI liked everything the product except for the valve that you have to sweet the 1/2 copper too. The valves where too short and I ended up melting the plastic where the valve is attached. I ended up returning this product and bought a cheaper set up with longer valves.
