Pricey But Very Bright and Reliable

Needed to upgrade an old flashlight that I love and this did the trick.

Nite Ize LED Flashlight Bulb

One of the best bulbs I’ve ever used. Excellent range with bright focus & clear beam. I have one of these on another flashlight which is why I bought this one.

Excellent for many applications, but not all

I bought this light source for my 6v lantern. Previously, I'd replaced the dead 6v battery with an adapter that takes 4 D cells so I could use rechargeable cells. I found that the Nite Ize replacement only uses a small part of the reflector because it doesn't radiate downwards. Because my lantern has a removable holder for the bulb, I was able to adjust the focus so it gives a bright (but funny shaped) spot at long range but a pair of concentric circles at short range. Bright, but EXTREMELY expensive for just a flashlight bulb replacement!

brighter light, longer battery life

easy to change out, can still use focus on flashlight, didn't do side by side comparison with original because i don't have two mini mags, but seems brighter and battery should last longer because of the LED. Does not work with the IQ switch which i really like.

OVERHEATED!!!

Today I used this flashlight to look at wiring in the back of a rack. When the light went out I shook it and turned the switch on and off but the lamp would not come back on. I then put it in my pocket to look at later. Five minutes later I felt something warm in my pocket and reached in and pulled out the flashlight which was now so hot I could hardly hang onto it. Guess I need a new Maglite.

Good quality item but instructions could be better

The item is of good quality and I am happy with that. The instructions need to be improved. While the picture instructions are good, the written instructions could be improved. I got a bit frustrated trying to get it to work. When I took out the incandescent light a black 'disc' came with it. I assumed this is what is supposed to happen. The instructions do not mention to leave the disc in place. The picture instructions are a bit small to notice this detail that the disc should stay in pl...

Disappointed

Purchased this product to replace a Nite Ize upgrade that had died. When I opened my Mini-Maglite I found that the replacement had melted. The LED appeared to be OK, but the "DO NOT REMOVE" connector between the LED holder and battery was melted, so this kit doesn't solve my problem.

limited use item

The bulb fits just like a replacement bulb and was ready to use in 5 minutes or less from the time i opened the package. It just doesn't get any easier!

Big improvement. Didn't want to give up the little Maglite when bulb went out. Was at Grainger and purchased one just to try. Ended up getting 3 and replacing all of my bulbs. Do yourself a favor when installing and leave the batteries in the flashlight while changing over the housing. If you don't the lower housing will fall out and possibly lose the small tab inside the battery compartment that is your contact for the light. THIS IS A GREAT BUY ! WAS HESITANT TO BUY BECAUSE PACKAGING DOESN'T MENTION "MAG LITE" BY NAME BUT NOT DISAPPOINTED. IT DROPS RIGHT IN LIKE ANY REPLACEMENT BULB AND GREATLY INCREASES THE BRIGHTNESS. SHOULD ALSO INCREASE BATTERY LIFE. I EVEN WENT BACK TO LOWES AND BOUGHT THE LAST FEW ON THE SHELF TO SHARE WITH OTHER MAG LITE OWNERS I KNOW !
