What Customers Are Saying

This protective finish provides a clear, durable coating that enhances the natural color and richness of wood. Many users report it is easy to apply, dries quickly, and leaves a glossy finish. However, some have experienced issues with the spray version, recommending the brush-on version instead for more consistent results. Overall, this appears to be a high-quality product that works well for finishing and protecting a variety of wood projects when applied properly.

Carpenter of 25 Years Says "This is Garbage"

Would Not Recommend

Being a carpenter for 25 years I've used lots of different finishes, stains, paints etc and this my friends is garbage. To start this can is over $15 near me and that is outrageous. Beyond the price is the terrible function of the can. It spits almost constantly. I tried wiping the can and shaking every few seconds to stop any bubble build up and keep an even pressure but it still spit way too much. I worked with a dry brush to go back and try to blend the spits but that didnt help because when ...

Impossible cap

Would Not Recommend

I bought the aerosol version of the polyacrylic. The cap is extremely difficult to get off. I could not do it, so I left it outside by my project for my husband to get home. He’s a big strong guy and he, too, struggled immensely to get off the cap. Unfortunately, in the short time I left it outside it froze a bit and it can’t be used. I’m going to let it warm up and see if it’s useable, The label does say “keep from freezing “, so that part is on me. Even if I can use it, I’ll never buy produc...

Better than Varathane - TOO $$$

Horrible "sputtered" results with Varathane's spray water-based Urethane led me try Minwax's product. It was much better, but still didn't atomize spray well enough, and it's TOO expensive!

Easy to apply but it smells!

Decided to use this as Lowes no longer carries Deft spray lacquer. Spray on and it dries quick. Give it a lite sand with 320 grit to knock down the raised grain. Spray coat #2, light sand 320 grit again. Spray coat #3 and you're done. Dries very fast. The downside, it smells. It smells when you spray apply so you need a lot of ventilation. 3 weeks afterwards, it still has a smell! I don't know how long it will be before the smell will go away.

Just like water

Would Recommend

It’s a good product just wish they could make it a little thicker. I can spray it pretty well but it’s just like water will run or sag real easily
