Keeping it Straight

A simple tool for keeping your cordless drill on the straight and narrow...!

Not very helpful

Has a groove on the bottom that ma k es it difficult to use on the edge of a narrow board. Need to clamp it to keep it from moving when drilling.

Great little device

Had my doubts when I bought it, but this thing really works. I needed to drill 1.5" diameter holes in a 4x4 treated post. Started by drilling 3/16" pilot holes using the drillblock, then used a 1.5" spade bit to drill the actual holes. The spade bit followed the path of the pilot holes and all the drill holes ended up perfectly centered on the opposite side of the 4x4. Such a simple device but it works great. Wish I had bought this 20 years ago.

Very handy

This was a real life saver when I was trying to install a new mantle. Helped me drill the holes in the hanger strip straight through so I could mount the strip to the wall with the screws going in straight instead of crooked. It is also small enough that I can keep in in my drill bag.

As another reviewer did, I used it to drill perfectly centered holes in EMT on location. Perfect results.

Does't drill at 90 degrees.

I purchased this to get precise 90 angles for a project I was working on and 2/3 of the holes were at least 12 degrees off. I used this product again recently after I had gotten more experience and the same was true even though the DrillBlock was flat against the piece and clamped down.

I wish it went up to 3/4 inch for the straight vertical drilling of standard bench dog holes.

Simple, well built tool

I used this tool to drill 1/4" thru holes in EMT and it worked very well. I was using a handheld drill so I clamped the fixture to the EMT to keep it in place.

Wish I would have found this sooner...

I struggle to drill straight and the fact that most drills are abnormally shaped it makes it hard to use a level to drill true on something with low tolerances. After blowing out the sides on 2 end grain dowel holes this has been a board saver for sure! A must buy for anyone trying to drill straight.

Great little tool

Drill blocked allowed me to drill straight perpendicular holes. Worked great! I was using it to drill holes in 2 in slabs for floating shelves since I didn’t have a drill press.

This product was my first of its kind, so I was really curious to see how it was going to work. The shape of the product allows a person to hold it in either hand with comfort. It's compact, sturdy, and has a selection of commonly used drill slots, which makes it easy to creat straight drill holes with different size bits. I really liked this product.

I love this product. I do a lot of drilling while pieces are in the vertical position. Keeping the drill at 90 degrees to the piece never happens. This is a great little guide that keeps drilling straight. It's small and tough. My only complaint is that they don't make a series with more sizes. This is one of those accessories that when you use it you'll say "why they heck didn't I buy this sooner?"
