soft start, lots of power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased for a specific project, 1/2 bit's for raised panel doors are large, so the slow constant power with variable speed is needed and has worked flawlessly. The motor release on the basses makes a quick change from router table to the plunge base was great! It kept me moving through my project. Two wrench collet operation was also a driving factor in my choice!

Metabo Variable Speed Fixed Base Router

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Metabo router works very well. It fit my router table with no modifications. I like the versatility of the 1/4" and 1/2" collets.

Love the flexibiltiy

Only have used it to make sure everything worked. Easy setup and smooth. easy to do a dado with a mortising bit. love that came as a kit with fixed and plunge. also has both 1/4 and 1/2 collets. comes with a wide selection of bushings.

M12VC Router Issues

Purchased this router little over a year ago. After a year of minimal use (approx. 15 mins total on time) the speed controller has totally failed. This seems to be a common failure in this model router (woodworking Blogs). All Metabo HPT offered was a recommendation on where I could purchase a new controller, is which approx. 50 -60% the cost of the whole router . I own many other Hitachi power tools and they have had no issues. I now have unusable router. Because of this issue, I can not recom...

Powerful flexible router

Nice quality , plenty of power with both 1/4 and 1/2 collettes gives lots of flexibility. Plunge and fix bases work perfectly and are easy to adjust. Bushings are included and everything comes in a heavy hard sided case that protects your purchase. I have used this in and out of a taable and it all works great.

My little buddy

I really love this router. It’s a little lighter and smaller than my previous Skil and Craftsman routers making it easier to manage. My only issues are that it won’t mount to my Craftsman table and it takes 2 wrenches to change a bit. I always had a slide lock to keep the shaft from turning so only one wrench was required. Overall it is great value!

Great router for the money.

The feature set of this router matches that of more expensive ones. The adjustments are easy to use and it has plenty of power.
