Melnor 4 port

worked great during warm weather, but stopped working during colder weather.

Great product and excellent customer service.

The timer is well made, easy to use and has performed flawlessly. I did have an issue when the pressure regulator on the line feeding my greenhouse failed and the timer was seeing 120 psi incoming pressure. At that pressure, the valves would not open consistently. I messaged Melnor and they responded quickly and were very helpful. I fixed the water pressure and the unit is back working. Very positive experience. My next timer will be another Melnor.

One of the best

I bought one about 2 years ago and it works great, it's easy to use, but it doesnt last forever. The black parts where it connects to the hose end up cracking over time. I bought others since and I hate them, they are too complicated and not worth my time. I really like the simplicity of this one and functionality. It doesn't last forever, none of them do, but now I am buying this again, cause I prefer it to any other i have tried.

3 of the 4 still work

I love that you can set up to 4 timers for each of the 4 zones. Unfortunately, the valve that allows water through for zone 1 quit working. The unit shows that it should be on, but it is not. Disappointed about that. But I didn’t have a problem programming it. Kind of a painful process, but not that difficult to figure out.

This is my second one of these. I broke the other by mistake, my fault. The pros are this … it has a sht-ton of options for four zones, with four different times to run them and 4 different length of times to let them run. So that is pretty awesome. The cons, I had to take out a $200k loan to get an engineering degree to program the friggen thing. I think I had a 2 month learning curve. I’m good now though.

2 Valves went bad

Two of the internal valves of this unit went bad, the first within a month and the second within 7 months. The good valves make a healthy "click" when they open, but when it goes bad I only hear the soft tick of what I assume is an internal relay that sends power to the valve. Also, the user interface is a bit confusing and has a habit of defaulting to "Off" when anything is manipulated.

Frustrated Gardener

After using this timer for one month I took it out and replaced it with an Orbit timer. This timer is confusing to program, the screen is difficult to read in the sunlight and it is undependable. After returning from a 3 day trip I returned to find that several zones did not run and I lost some of my garden plants and a shrub. Unreliable and Malunctions

I have this timer and within a few months zone 1 stopped opening to let water through(neither on manual or timer mode). So I had to adjust my lines to use just 2, 3, and 4. Then this weekend zone 3 stopped working while I was away for a few days leading me to come back to my garden/plants having basically died in 100 degree heat without water for multiple days. This is easy to program and works great! I was leaving town snd was not sure that my son would remember to water my garden. The time works great!
