Water leaks when not in use

The timer function is good. However, it drips drop-by-drop every quarter second when not in use, unless you shut off the faucet

Total Garbage

I have purchased this timer twice. Both failed within the same season. Valves won’t close, water leaks from unit. Melnor claims 7 year warranty, but you have to pay to send it to them and wait to see if they replace it. By that time watering season is done!

Very disappointed. I have tried everything to get this unit to stop leaking with no success! Much too expensive to have ot leak all the time!

Is it a quality product? Yes, and No.

The Melnor 4 zone water timer is easy to program and is perfect for my needs. However, I’ve had to replace it ever other year for the past 4 years and need to replace again. because it always and I mean always develops a leak around the faucet collar and at the point where a rubber washer does not help as the leak is below the threaded connector where it meets the timer housing and cannot be disassembled from what I can determine. Does what it's supposed to do

I am putting sod on my 2500 sq ft front lawn - a real investment in my property - and was told to water the sod 3x a day during sunlight hours for 3 weeks. I still work in an office, and I can't be there to water my expensive sod, so I bought this water timer. Wasted money on this craptastical item.

I do not recommend buying these unless you plan to replace them at least once a year. The valves are prone to sticking, even if you follow their storage directions and clean it and store it out of cold weather. These should not be sold at this price point because they're only going to break quicker than a dollar store kazoo.

Can't trust it.

We bought this to water a garden at an off grid property using water from a rain water catchment systems. After just two weeks of use, one of the valves stopped working in the open position. Drained our entire rain water storage and flooded the garden.

Liked but be careful connecting hoses.

Very easy to program and seems reliable. Did not like the plastic hose connection, very easy to strip which causes connection to leak.

Buy a new one every year

I have purchased 2 of these and every year I seems I have to keep replacing it. At the end of summer we disconnect it and store it for the winter. Every year when we bring it back out to use I doesn’t work. I have replaced batteries also. This year only2 ports will one on and the timers don’t work at all. I have to use the manual water with only 2 ports. I refuse to replace again his year.

Did not have to buy separate Solenoids. A wide verity of choices during programing. A seven year warranty.

Works, mostly...

Some days one zone won't turn on, some days it's another that doesn't. Starting a new lawn and this thing is not reliable. Any other product on the market???
