What Customers Are Saying

The product has a mixed performance. Many found the installation easy, but some reported issues with the adhesive not sticking well or the snap-in mechanism not working as expected. The product's ability to handle larger height differences was also inconsistent, with it only suitable for small gaps up to 1/2 inch for some customers. While the product works well for some, it has reliability concerns that prevent it from being universally recommended.

Flooring nails are better than the snap track...

Would Not Recommend

The no fasteners required "snap track" transition reducer is more difficult than normal nails to install. If you have high carpets that transition to a hardwood floor is becomes very difficult to snap the reducer down into the snaptrack due to the carpet height (the packaging said it was up to 1/2 inch gap, but my gap was nearly half that and I still had trouble attaching.) If you feel comfortable driving a handful of nails into the floor to attach a transition reducer that's what I would recomm...

Looks Nice

Would Not Recommend

The overall look is nice. Especially because no one will rip a sock on the nails as there aren't any. The problem we had with this product is the inability to know where the plastic track is located when you put it in for the final time. We missed & in taking it back up the adhesive didn't hold the track down. We were left with nothing to hold the track down. Our solution was to use a lot of adhesive and attaching the track before placing the strip down on the adhesive. We installed 2 of these. ...

Worked wonders to divide restroom entry from other room. We so wish it came in much longer lengths so we could use it to divide kitchen from living room.

Door jam reducer

Would Recommend

I love how easy this was to put in. It turned out beautifully. I went from carpet on one side to vinyl on the other side. There are no screws to put in cement and that was great. It glued right to the floor.

Would Not Recommend

We have a need for a 1 inch reducer. This claims online to be up to 1.5", but on the packaging is up to 1/2 inch.

Carpet to linoleum

Would Recommend

I had my concerns the 3m tape strip wouldn't hold the piece down firmly. I let it "cure" for 10-20 minutes, and then placed the reducer on, stood on it until I heard a snap. It holds very well and the brushed look of the reducers is very attractive.

Quality Appearance

Would Recommend

My customer requested metal transitions from laminate flooring to carpeted rooms, expecting the old style transition attached with nails, but was very impressed with the appearance of the M-D product. The snaptrack mount adheres very well to the underlayment; no unsightly nails that sometimes work loose over time. Yes, more expensive initially, but doesn't look cheap in the nicely remodeled home.

Tried and like

Would Recommend

I needed a transition piece to go on an unsealed concrete floor, and I didn't want to drill holes or shoot tapcons into the concrete. This seemed like a viable option, but I was skeptical of the adhesive strip. Once I applied it though I am sold on how strong it holds. The transition has been in place for a couple of weeks, and despite foot traffic is holding strong. I would recommend this product.
