What Customers Are Saying
The product received mixed reviews, with some customers reporting it worked well and produced delicious fried turkeys, while the majority expressed significant concerns. The main issues were the fryer's inability to maintain a consistent oil temperature, resulting in undercooked or unevenly cooked turkeys, as well as problems with the igniter and propane burner. Additionally, some reviewers noted the poor quality of the fryer's construction, with the pot being described as thin and flimsy, and complaints about the smaller-than-expected size of the basket. Overall, the consensus is that the product is a disappointing one that struggles to reliably and consistently fry turkeys to the desired temperature and doneness.

Would RecommendUsed for our first Thanksgiving Turkey in our new home. Turned out amazing. Been deep frying Turkeys every year for close to 20 years now and this is a tradition that will continue with the proper equipment.

Oil Would Not Heat Up
Would Not RecommendWe've been deep frying turkeys for many years and this year planned to have two deep fryers going on at the same time. We already had one deep fryer from previous years and purchased a LoCo right before Thanksgiving. We started them up at the same time, but had so much trouble getting the oil to heat up in the LoCo. By the time the LoCo got to 350, the other turkey was close to being done. When the LoCo finally hit 350, we put the turkey in and the temperature dropped and would not heat ba...

plan ahead
Would Recommend1st attempt at frying a turkey. As a few others have posted, it took about 45 mins to get oil up to 350. You will need approx. 3.5 gallons of oil for max. fill level. After putting a 13 lb turkey in, the oil temp dropped to about 290 and only recovered to about 305 after 1 hour of cooking time. The recommended 45 mins. only got the breast temp to 150. Turkey tasted great, just took a lot longer then I had planned. Cleaning the fryer was easier than expected too.
This is the dryer you’re looking for
Would RecommendWorks pretty well! Has all the basic essentials to fry your turkey to include a thermometer!

Horrible product
Would Not RecommendI’ve never had such a difficult time frying a Turkey! The fryer took forever to get up to temperature. That should have been my first red flag. Manual says 20 to 30 minutes to preheat the oil; took just over an hour! Then once I dropped the bird in the temp dropped and never recovered above 250 degrees. It was a boiled turkey instead of a fried one... looked horrible and the skin was soft. Took so long to cook I had to let people start eating the side dishes first! This will be a return!!

Worked Great!
Would RecommendI decided this Thanksgiving to deep fry a turkey for the first time, did some checking around and bought this one over Wal Mart's brand because theirs has a 15 minute shutoff timer and this one doesn't. Glad I did, because it takes about 45 minutes for the peanut oil to reach 350, plus another 45 to cook the bird. Very easy to assemble, there are easy to follow instructions on safety and how to cook. Nothing was left uncovered. In 45 minutes of cooking we had the tastiest turkey ever with no pro...

Not bad but not great.
Would Not RecommendThis fryer did an amazing job for small birds and chicken in 50 degree weather. Use caution if you plan on going to the max size (18pounds) in freezing or near freezing weather. Oil would not reach 350 after 1 hour. Had to cook it at 250 for much longer time frame... turkey didn’t look to great but tasted amazing. In short use common sense (which I lacked on that’s giving) big bird plus cold weather = don’t use this pot... get a bigger pot/burner.
O.K. at best.
Would Not RecommendThe build is thin and just tack-welded. But the real issue is that it's a 3psi burner. A typical turkey fryer is 5 psi and honestly, that's barely enough for a turkey fryer. The pot and lid are the star here for the drip option and the lid hanger. The rest of the unit isn't up to the task of heating up enough oil for a turkey. On a 60 degree day it took almost an hour with almost no wind to heat the oil to 350. Once the 14lb turkey was in, the oil just hovered at 250 for the next half hour. It j...

Vegetarian Thanksgiving :(
Would Not RecommendRead manual, watched videos. Took a while to get to 350, but finally did (about 45 minutes). Put 16# turkey in, temp dropped to 250, then 225 never got any higher. Turkey ruined. First time this has happened to me (have fried at least 50 turkeys over the years). Will try again and update review, but so far am thoroughly disappointed with this unit

Love the setup, had a problem with the performance
Would Not RecommendGreat price, easy set up, and the smart control is awesome. the problem is most likely a design flaw, with the pot too far from the burner. it took over an hour to reach 350, and struggled to maintain 300 during cooking (14 pound turkey). the poor performance is the reason for the low rating.

Underwhelming
Would Not RecommendRegulator output is too low to maintain oil temp. Well built but I had to go back to my old rusty cooker. I'll find a replacement regulator or give this away. I wanted to like it but I simply can't.

Loco - it is crazy
Not really happy with this product. The Turkey apparatus was not included in the start up kit (as I call it). I would pay extra just not to worry about that type of stuff. Also, the max. Range to adjust the temp is 250 +/- 10 degrees. So how can I get to 350 will frying turkey? Not to mention that the could adjust the air flow. Little frustrating!

Great but lacks a poultry rack
Would Not RecommendGreat fryer so far but it's extremely frustrating that's it's s turkey fryer that comes with everything you need to fry a turkey... except the poultry rack you need to lower the turkey into the fryer. Make sure you buy one when you buy the fryer.

Safety feature prevent proper temp
It seems that the safety feature of this product prevents it from getting and maintaining a good cooking temperature. If it is used against the manufacturers recommendations and the pot is not touching the safety thermostat it works fine.

Might be good for beginners
Would Not RecommendI’ve been deep frying turkeys for a lot of years now, and probably have about 100-150 under my belt at this point. I have never had so much trouble getting the oil to heat up. I wasted half an hour just getting this thing to heat up to 350. Once there was a turkey in there it drops to 300 and won’t heat back up. I hear the flame die down constantly because of the “smart temp” Monitor keeping it right at 300 the whole time. Maybe if you don’t know what you’re doing it good, but I will be taking...

LoCo Propane Fryer
Would RecommendEasy to assemble, just wish the box was big enough to store the assemble base & 30-qt pan for storage. Used the basket to deep fry a 10lb Turkey, done in 30-minutes, it was completely cooked in the middle. Especially enjoyed the juicy turkey breast (white meat), instead of the typical dried out baked Turkey breast. Next is a 20lb Turkey, using the LoCo Poultry Hook I bought separately. Then we wait an see how many years I can get out of the LoCo Propane Fryer.

Easy to use
Would RecommendBought it for Thanksgiving. Just did a test run with a 10lb chicken. I bought the loco Turkey stand for $10. The basket seems small even though its rated for up to 15lbs was planning on using an 18lb Turkey and wanted to test it the right way. Anyway put the bird in the pot, filled with water till it was submerged. Removed the bird and measured the water line. Was about 3.5 gallons of oil. Lit the burner. Took about 20min to heat up to 350° and took my chicken about 32min to cook. Was fantastic....
