What Customers Are Saying
The Loctite Rust Neutralizer appears to be a mixed product in terms of effectiveness. Many users reported it successfully neutralized and removed rust, leaving a smooth, paintable surface. However, some found it did not perform as promised, with the rust not turning black or the product stopping midway through use. Proper application, including multiple coats if needed, and using an oil-based paint afterwards, seems important for achieving satisfactory results, especially with more severe rust.

Would RecommendAs I am updating my bathroom I realized my bathroom medicine cabinet had rust. I use this and it came off.
Didn't spray. Barely removed rust.
Would Not RecommendThe can quit spraying, not even 1/3 of the way through the can. I got it to work after more than five minutes of messing with it. I really didn't want to run back to the store. Then, it pooped out again. Another 5-10 minutes to get it going again. Kind of converted the rust. Kind of left a film behind. Too much hassle. I bought a second can which I will be returning.
Doesn’t work
Would Not RecommendTried it, did not convert the rust, actually nothing happened. So it was a waste of money.
spray away rust by chemically altering it
Would Recommendworks as promised, converts rust to a black hard substance that is ready to pain or leave it just as is....
Rust on ref,
Would RecommendI sanded item that was rusted and sprayed loctite on the rust spots and the spots turned black. The next day I painted the item and the rust did not come back.
great quick product
Would Recommendoxidizes well and leaves a surface that is ready for paint. this all depends on your prep
May be a 1 off thing
Looked and looked for a product, found this one. Got it home and used it for a few items then it ran out of pressure with 3/4 of a can left.
I don't recommend it at all
Would Not RecommendI bought it to prevent rust and clear the already existing rust on some tools but when I used it created some sludge/sticky nasty materials and all tools changed colors and worse when it dried up into hard mass,I believe W40 is best option or any lubricant is much better
great stuff
Would Recommendthis stuff is great. I don't think you can beat its effectiveness and the price is right.
works great
Would RecommendBought this to use for refinishing old metal patio furniture.
Works
Would RecommendSpray it on, wait 24 hours rusted areas turn black and now ready to finish painting
Deterrent-yes......Removal-not so much
Would RecommendAny product on the market would have issues removing 150 years of rust, but it did aid in softening it up to make removal much easier. I gave the product a challenge and it did much better than expected...and will keep the rust from returning
