Bolt on problems with threads

Could not get the threads to work on my weed eater. I had to rethread the bolt then made it work. Can't tell how long it will last

Works well but no directions

This works well for the Kobalt 80V string trimmer. I am deducting a star because there are NO instructions. Go on youtube and you can find out how to remove the old trimmer head (you need a hex key tool). Also, for some reasons this trimmer contains two separate pieces of string, which stops working as you wear it down. You have to remove one of them...this trimmer works only when loaded with a single piece of string.

Kobalt V80

I have used my Kobalt v80 very little and now need a replacement head and cannot find a replacement head from any one else because when mine was assembled the threads were striped. And now Kobalt doesn't make any more of these... The trimmer works good, but the head has always been junk.

Kobalt parts replacement suck. call and get same answer as you do on tv help line. Will no longer purchase Kobalt tools. They have no idea what they make.

Does not fit

While I enjoyed the 80v max trimmer because I can hear my kids while I’m in the yard, I’ll be going back to stihl. It took for ever to find a replacement head, which ic close to the original, but not the same. To me that shouldn’t be labeled as a “direct replacement” for the 80v max. Finally got it in just to find out it doesn’t fit. It will work if you trim ⅛ inch off the spacer under the spool, then press the nut out of the old spool, and press it into the new one. can't find replacement spools for 40 volt trimmer

why does the lowes web site show they have kobalt replacement spools but when you go they say they have never carried them. i have wasted my time on 2 trips to lowes dickson, and on internet trying to find. i bought my trimmer in march of 2021 and love the trimmer but you would think the spool and bump knob would last longer. will now have to pay shipping from other lowes location.

Do not purchase

Needed a replacement spool. Not available in the district, was told to go on-line. Not acceptable. Very disappointing.

Parts Are Never In Stock

Don't buy a Kobalt Cordless String Trimmer, they change them every couple of years and do not stock parts.

80v kobalt

if I can't get any parts for my trimmer, I think I should get a prorated refund to buy another brand from lowes.

The Kobalt trimmer is nice, but if you need a part for it you can't find it in Lowes stores. Called the Kobalt company and they didn't even have it. Will not buy another one.

Don't get a Kobalt

Don't pay the price for an 80V Kobalt weed eater as you can't find a replacement spool as Lowe's can't get them

No Instructions

How am I supposed to install this? It does not come with any instructions. I may be stupid, but it is not intuitive as to how to get the old one off to install the new one.

80V Trimmer Spool

Very pricey for plastic. Design was slightly different than original, therefore I had to use a combination of old and new parts. Wish I could have bought only the part that you tap to feed trimmer line. This comes as an assembled unit, it would be more convenient if components were sold separately and making replacement less expensive. I couldn't find Kobalt parts elsewhere so they have you over a barrel after purchasing an expensive trimmer.

Not sure what the fuss is about...

Yeah, my store didn't have in stock, so I ordered it online. It took ONE week to arrive - big whoop. One spool lasts me two years, so this isn't a huge expense. Trimmer back in business!

Concerned about other reviews, happy with result

After reading the other reviews, I was concerned that this would not fit my 80v trimmer. It seems that the thread changed at some point causing a fitment issue for others. I went to the local store last night to get the Shakespeare head that can be adapted to any trimmer and found this on the shelf as a cancelled online order. Kobalt 80-volt trimmer

Original replacement spool released “string” too quickly. For that reason, I purchased this replacement spool. Some usage is required before I know if problem was a one-off issue because in general the string feeder on this 80-volt Kobalt trimmer is definitely an upgrade from The 40-volt Kobalt trimmer. Battery charging is good as most rechargeable are quite good today. The quality of the actual string used in the 80-volt is also exceptional.

Perfect Fit!

This replacement head was exactly what I needed and fit perfectly. The only issue I had was that there were not any instructions on how to replacement it. After a couple failed attempts, I finally Googled it and found some fantastic help from a guy who had the same issues as me. My suggestions...some simple instructions would save your customer a lot of frustration.

Does not fit

I ordered this as a replacement for my 80v string trimmer. I am returning it tomorrow. the threads do not match.

Might be great but it doesn't fit!!!

I have an 80V weed eater purchased last year. I wanted to put a new head on it and then have a spare. Ordered them and they got here pretty quickly. Wen to put it on and it doesn't fit. The head screw is too big for the new heads? Now what???? Back to Lowe's I go...
